Vítor Gomes
Vítor Hugo Gomes da Silva (born 25 December 1987), known as Gomes, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Rio Ave as a defensive midfielder. He achieved Primeira Liga totals of 246 games and 15 goals over 12 seasons, for Rio Ave, Moreirense, Belenenses and Aves. He also played professionally in Hungary, Turkey and Cyprus. Club career Born in Vila do Conde and a product of hometown club Rio Ave FC's youth system, Gomes first appeared with the first team on 19 March 2006, starting in a 0–1 home loss against S.L. Vila Do Conde
Vila do Conde (, ; "the Count's Town") is a municipality in the Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 79,533, in an area of 149.03 km². The urbanized area of Vila do Conde, which includes the parishes of Vila do Conde, Azurara and Árvore, represent 36,137 inhabitants. Estadio dos Arcos is a multi-use stadium in Vila do Conde, Portugal. It is used mostly for football matches of Primeira Liga club Rio Ave. The stadium is able to hold 12,815 people and was built in 1985. Alexandre Xavier Pereira Guedes (born 11 February 1994) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for F.C. Paços de Ferreira. The Taça de Portugal (; "Cup of Portugal") is an annual association football competition and the premier knockout tournament in Portuguese football. For sponsorship reasons, it has been known as Taça de Portugal Placard since the 2015–16 season. Organised by the Portuguese Football Federation since it was first held in 1938, the competition is open to professional and amateur clubs from the top-four league divisions. Portuguese Football League System
The Portuguese football league system consists of several leagues bound together hierarchically by promotion and relegation. Reserve teams are allowed to compete in the main league system, as is the case with most of Europe.
