Víctor Marrero Padilla
Víctor Marrero Padilla (1938 – April 18, 2023), also known as El Búho, was a Puerto Rican politician who served as a Senator. He was a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico from 1993 until his conviction of corruption in 2000. Biography Víctor Marrero was first elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico at the 1992 general elections and was reelected in 1996. Accusation In 2000, Marrero was accused of illegally appropriating $600 destined for an air conditioner for a medical clinic at the Ramón Marín Sola housing project in Arecibo. He was tried and found guilty by a jury on October 11, 2000 with a verdict of 11–1. The family of Marrero maintain his innocence, but were not able to get a new trial for him. on '' |

Puerto Rico Senatorial District III, also known as the Senatorial District of Arecibo, is one of the eight senatorial districts of Puerto Rico. It is currently represented by José Pérez Rosa and Angel Martínez (both from the New Progressive Party). District profile The Senatorial District III has an approximate population of 470,250. ''El Nuevo Día'' (English: ''The New Day'') is the newspaper with the largest circulation in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1909 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and today it is a subsidiary of GFR Media. Its headquarters are in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Arecibo (; ) is a city and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, located north of Utuado and Ciales; east of Hatillo; and west of Barceloneta and Florida.
