Várkert Stadium is a football stadium in Kisvárda, Hungary. The UEFA stadium categories, UEFA category 3 arena is home to the association football side Kisvárda FC. The stadium has a capacity of 2,850. History The stadium was planned to be built for HUF 120 million in 2014, however step by step it managed to cost taxpayers a lot more. After categorised as an economically significant investment, another HUF 800 million was awarded in 2014, which grew to 1.5 billion and then 2 billion in a short time. In the end a further 473 million HUF was spent on building a heat pipe system from the nearby thermal water complex - making the total investment HUF 2.5 billion - basically 1 million for each spectator seat. Kisvárda
Kisvárda (; german: Kleinwardein, yi, קליינווארדיין, Kleynvardeyn) is a town in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary near the border of Slovakia and Ukraine. It is the 3rd largest town in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg after Nyíregyháza and Mátészalka with a population of 16 669 people. The Subregion of Kisvárda lies between two large landscapes, the Nyírség and the Rétköz. The 2018–19 Magyar Kupa (English: ''Hungarian Cup'') was the 79th season of Hungary's annual knock-out cup football competition. MOL Vidi FC won the competition by beating Budapest Honvéd FC in the final held at Groupama Aréna on 25 May 2019. Gheorghe "Gicu" Teodor Grozav (; born 29 September 1990) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a winger or an attacking midfielder for Liga I club Petrolul Ploiești. Club career Unirea Alba Iulia Grozav started his career at his hometown club Unirea Alba Iulia, playing his first match in the 2007–08 Liga II season. Kisvárda Football Club is a Hungarian football club located in Kisvárda. It currently plays in Nemzeti Bajnokság I. The team's colors are red and white. History Kisvárda FC, later known as Várda SE, was founded in 1911 as ''Kisvárdai Sport Egyesület (KSE)''. The officials of the village supported the new club by donating a pitch next to the market place. The financial support came from the merchants of the village, who helped a lot in the early stages of the club. In 1953, their present-day ground, the Várkerti sporttelep was built. The 2018–19 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2018–19 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 120th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Videoton were the defending champions. Fixtures were published on 27 June 2018. Teams Balmazújváros and Vasas finished the 2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I in the last two places and thus were relegated to NB II division.
