Mridula Garg
Mridula Garg (born 1938) is an Indian writer who writes in Hindi and English languages. She has published over 30 books in Hindi – novels, short story collections, plays and collections of essays – including several translated into English. She is a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award. Biography Garg was raised in Delhi by her parents with six sisters, and began writing stories while she was a child. She completed her Masters in Economics in 1960 and taught economics in University of Delhi for three years. She published her debut novel, ''Uske Hisse Ki Dhoop'', in 1975. She was arrested for obscenity after her novel ''Chittacobra'' was published in 1979, in a case that extended for two years but did not result in prison. Ram Vilas Sharma
Ram Vilas Sharma (10 October 1912 – 30 May 2000) was a progressive literary critic, linguist, poet and thinker. He was born in Unchgaon Sani, Unnao District, Uttar Pradesh. In a career spanning nearly five decades, Sharma authored over 50 books. Shiv Prasaad Singh
Shiv Prasaad Singh (19 August 1928 – 28 September 1998) was an Indian writer, university professor and scholar of the Hindi language. He is well-known for writing novels, short stories and critiques in Hindi. He was formerly a professor of Hindi literature in Benares Hindu University. He received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990 for his novel ''Neela Chand''. Girija Kumar Mathur
Girija Kumar Mathur (Hindi: गिरिजाकुमार माथुर) (22 August 1919 – 10 January 1994) was a notable Indian writer of the Hindi language. He is noted for his translation of the popular English song "We Shall Overcome" into Hindi (हम होगें कामयाब). Govind Mishra (born 1 August 1939) is an Indian novelist, who has written more than 53 books. He was also a civil servant with Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and retired as Chairperson, Central Board of Direct Taxes in 1997. Shrilal Shukla (31 December 1925 – 28 October 2011) was a Hindi writer, notable for his satire. He worked as a PCS officer for the state government of Uttar Pradesh, later inducted into the IAS. He has written over 25 books, including Raag Darbari, ''Makaan'', ''Sooni Ghaati Ka Sooraj'', ''Pehla Padaav'' and ''Bisrampur Ka Sant''. Acharya Giriraj Kishore (4 February 1920 – 13 July 2014) was an Indian activist representing Hindu nationalism.
