Vyacheslav Shevchuk
Vyacheslav Anatoliyovych Shevchuk ( uk, В'ячеслав Анатолійович Шевчу́к, born 13 May 1979) is a retired Ukrainian professional footballer and manager, mainly known for his time as a player of FC Shakhtar Donetsk. He was capped over 50 times for the Ukraine national football team. Career His position is at left back but he can also play as a central defender. Shevchuk has been a reliable back-up to Răzvan Raţ and has gradually increased his attacking play over the years. During Shakhtar's victory over Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih on 7 August 2011, Shevchuk scored his first goal for the club when he drilled home the second goal in a 2–0 win. To date, Shevchuk has won seven Ukrainian Premier League titles, four Ukrainian Cup finals and the UEFA Cup. In December 2016, Shevchuk announced his retirement from football. Ukraine National Football Team
The Ukraine national football team ( uk, Збірна України з футболу) represents Ukraine in men's international football and is governed by the Ukrainian Association of Football, the governing body for football in Ukraine. Ukraine's home ground is the Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv. The team has been a full member of UEFA and FIFA since 1992. After Ukrainian Independence and the country's breakaway from the Soviet Union, they played their first match against Hungary on 29 April 1992. The Ukrainian Cup ( uk, Кубок України) is an association football national knockout cup competition run by the Ukrainian Association of Football. The competition is conducted almost exclusively among professional clubs. Since the 2003–04 season, the Cup winner qualifies to play the Ukrainian Premier League winner for the Ukrainian Super Cup. Current format The format of this competition consists of two stages: a qualification stage with two rounds followed by the main event (four rounds and the final game). The competition involves all professional clubs plus the two finalists of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup (since 2011). Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih
Football Club Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih () was a professional Ukrainian football club based in Kryvyi Rih. Until 2013 the club participated in professional competitions. In June 2013 the club went bankrupt and was expelled from the Ukrainian Premier League. There was a failed attempt to revive the club in 2014, until finally the club was reestablished again in 2015. In 2020, the club merged with Hirnyk Kryvyi Rih which took on the Kryvbas's brand. History The team was founded as FC Kryvyi Rih in 1959. The next year it was part of the republican sport society Avanhard. After a couple of years it changed to Hirnyk, before obtaining current its name in 1966.
