Vozuća Monastery
The Vozuća Monastery ( sr, Манастир Возућа, Manastir Vozuća) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Holy Trinity and located around from the village of Vozuća in the Municipality of Zavidovići, central Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its foundation dates back to 16th century, most likely after 1557, and was first mentioned in 1617. After it was abandoned in 1690, during the Great Turkish War, it remained empty for more than a century. It was renovated two times during the 19th century, between 1856 and 1859, and in 1884. An elementary school was constructed at the monastery in 1858, but it was closed in 1894. That year, a wooden bell tower was built beside the monastery's church. The monastery was badly damaged during World War II. The Bosnian War ( sh, Rat u Bosni i Hercegovini / Рат у Босни и Херцеговини) was an international armed conflict that took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992 and 1995. The war is commonly seen as having started on 6 April 1992, following a number of earlier violent incidents. The war ended on 14 December 1995 when the Dayton accords were signed. The main belligerents were the forces of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and those of Herzeg-Bosnia and Republika Srpska, proto-states led and supplied by Croatia and Serbia, respectively. The war was part of the breakup of Yugoslavia. The Serbian Orthodox Church ( sr-Cyrl, Српска православна црква, Srpska pravoslavna crkva) is one of the autocephalous (ecclesiastically independent) Eastern Orthodox Christian denomination, Christian churches.
