Vozuća
Vozuća is a settlement in Zavidovići municipality, Zenica-Doboj Canton in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the river of Krivaja. The settlement is known for the Battle for Vozuća of the Bosnian War, when the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated the Army of Republika Srpska. Today, Vozuća represents a symbol of the post-war recovery of Bosnia. History In 1470, during the Ottoman rule, the settlement is first mentioned under the name "Kurtkasaba", meaning "wolf settlement" or "a place of wolves" in English. The local people changed it to "Vukovine" because the area's plentiful flora and fauna. In Vozuća are settled some places like Hrge, where in 1911 a spear and a bronze bracelet were found and are now in the collection of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vozuća Monastery
The Vozuća Monastery ( sr, Манастир Возућа, Manastir Vozuća) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Holy Trinity and located around from the village of Vozuća in the Municipality of Zavidovići, central Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its foundation dates back to 16th century, most likely after 1557, and was first mentioned in 1617. After it was abandoned in 1690, during the Great Turkish War, it remained empty for more than a century. It was renovated two times during the 19th century, between 1856 and 1859, and in 1884. An elementary school was constructed at the monastery in 1858, but it was closed in 1894. That year, a wooden bell tower was built beside the monastery's church. Black Swans (special Forces)
The Black Swans ( bs, Crni labudovi) was a special forces unit within the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was a Patriotic League unit formed in 1992 in Sapna, under the 2nd Corps (later 1st Corps) which eventually numbered 800 men. It earned a reputation for battlefield bravery. The first commander, Senad Mehdin Hodžić, was a former member of the Special anti-terrorist unit of the Yugoslav Ministry of Internal Affairs ( MUP). When he took command of the Black Swans, he would be known as "Kapetan Labud" or Captain Swan. Captain Hajro Mešić then went on to take the commanding position for a while. Zavidovići
Zavidovići ( sr-cyrl, Завидовићи) is a town and municipality located in Zenica-Doboj Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, located between Doboj and Zenica on the confluence of rivers Bosna, Krivaja and Gostović.
