Vouprasia ( el, Βουπρασία) is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Andravida-Kyllini, of which it is a municipal unit. Its seat of administration was Varda, a small town with a population of about 2,300. The municipal unit has about 8,400 inhabitants. The area of the municipal unit is 170.859 km². Geography Vouprasia is located in northern Elis, on the Ionian coast between Patras and Pyrgos. The Greek National Road 9/ E55 and the Patras-Kalamata railway line pass through it. Vouprasia has one disused railway station, in Varda. The area is mostly flat, and the main land use is agriculture. The lagoon Kotychi, connected with the Ionian Sea, is located in the western part of Vouprasia. There is a health center in Varda. Varda, Greece
Varda ( el, Βάρδα) is a town and a community in the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis, Greece. It was the seat of the former municipality Vouprasia. The community Varda consists of the town Varda and the villages Kougaiika, Komi, Sympanio and Psari. Varda is situated in the plains near the Ionian Sea, and east of the Kotychi lagoon. It is 2 km southeast of Manolada, 3 km southwest of Nea Manolada, 14 km northeast of Lechaina and 40 km southwest of Patras. The railway from Patras to Pyrgos passes west of the town, and the Greek National Road 9 (Patras - Pyrgos) passes east of the town. Aetorrachi, Elis
Aetorrachi ( el, Αετορράχη, before 1957: Βάλακα - ''Valaka'') is a settlement and a community in the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis Greece. It is located in the hills of northern Elis, 3 km east of Borsi, 14 km southeast of Varda and 30 km north of Pyrgos. It is close to the northern shore of the Pineios reservoir, and south of the Movri hills. Its population in 2001 was 92 for the village, and 224 for the community, which includes the village Dafni. History The village was founded during the Ottoman Era and was known as ''Valaka'' (Greek: Βάλακα), named after the Turkish chief Valak Agaş. Nisi ( el, Νησί) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis, Greece. It is situated in low hills, 4 km south of Neapoli, 8 km northwest of Aetorrachi, 7 km southeast of Varda and 35 km north of Pyrgos. Manolada ( el, Μανολάδα) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis, Greece. It is situated in a vast, rural plain near the Ionian Sea, 2 km northwest of Varda, 3 km west of Nea Manolada and 40 km southwest of Patras. Kapeleto ( el, Καπελέτο) is a village and a community in the municipal unit Vouprasia, Elis, Greece. It is located in a rural area, 4 km south of the town of Varda, 5 km northeast of Kourtesi and 37 km north of Pyrgos. Nea Manolada (Greek language, Greek: Νέα Μανολάδα) is a community in the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis (regional unit), Elis, southwestern Greece. It is located in a vast, rural plain, It is 3 km southwest of Neo Vouprasio, 3 km northeast of Varda, Greece, Varda and 37 km southwest of Patras. The Greek National Road 9 (Patras - Pyrgos, Elis, Pyrgos) passes east of the village, and the railway Patras - Pyrgos runs through the village. Lechaina
Lechaina ( el, Λεχαινά) is a town and a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Andravida-Kyllini, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 94.567 km2. It is situated 39 km north of the city of Pyrgos, and 60 km southwest of Patras. In 2011, its population was 4,855. Kourtesi
Kourtesi (Greek: Κουρτέσι) is a village and a community in the southwestern part of the municipal unit of Vouprasia, Elis, Greece. It is in a flat rural area, southeast of the Kotychi lagoon, 7 km southwest of Varda in the northeast, 1 km east of Areti and 7 km northeast of Lechaina. Kourtesi lies on the Greek National Road 9 connecting Patras and Pyrgos, and on the railway from Patras to Pyrgos. The community consists of the villages Kourtesi, Ano Kourtesi and Kotteika. Larissos
Larissos ( el, Λαρίσσος) is a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality West Achaea, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 225.729 km2. Its seat of administration was in the village Lappas, part of the community Metochi. The municipal unit was named after the river Larissos, which flows through it. It is the westernmost municipal unit of Achaea, stretching along the Ionian Sea coast and the border with Elis to the southern part of the Movri hills.
