Vote Planet
Climate Emergency Action Alliance: Vote Planet, formerly the Save Our One Planet Alliance, is an Australian political party founded in 2019. The party is an electoral alliance between the unregistered "Save the Planet" and "One Planet" parties. "Save Our One Planet Alliance" changed its name in 2021 to the "Climate Emergency Alliance: Vote Planet". Save the Planet was formed in 2012, and several of its members have contested Victorian state elections in the electorates of Brunswick and Northcote. The party's policies primarily focus around issues surrounding climate change, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for a post-climate change planet. In early 2022, it merged with other parties to become the Fusion Party. FUSION: Science, Pirate, Secular, Climate Emergency, commonly known as Fusion Party Australia or Fusion, is a political party in Australia created by the merging of the Science Party, Pirate Party, Secular Party, Vote Planet, and Climate Change Justice Party. Formation The party was formed in 2022 following the passing of the Electoral Legislation Amendment (Party Registration Integrity) Bill 2021 to amend the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918. 2014 Victorian State Election
The 2014 Victorian state election, held on Saturday, 29 November 2014, was for the 58th Parliament of Victoria. All 88 seats in the Victorian Legislative Assembly and 40 seats in the Victorian Legislative Council were up for election. The incumbent centre-right Coalition minority government, led by Liberal Party leader and Premier Denis Napthine and National Party leader and Deputy Premier Peter Ryan, was defeated by the centre-left Labor Party opposition, led by Daniel Andrews. The Greens won two lower house seats, their first Legislative Assembly seats in a Victorian state election, whilst increasing their share of upper house seats. 2022 Victorian State Election
The 2022 Victorian state election was held on Saturday, 26 November 2022 to elect the 60th Parliament of Victoria. All 88 seats in the Legislative Assembly (lower house) and all 40 seats in the Legislative Council (upper house) were up for election at the time the writs were issued, however the election in the district of Narracan was deferred due to the death of a candidate. The second-term incumbent Labor government, led by Premier Daniel Andrews, won a third four-year term, defeating the Liberal/ National Coalition opposition, led by Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, increasing their majority from their 2018 landslide election result. 2017 Northcote State By-election
A by-election for the seat of Northcote in the Victorian Legislative Assembly was held on 18 November 2017. The by-election was triggered by the death of Labor Party MP Fiona Richardson on 23 August 2017. While the seat historically has firmly been in the Labor Party's hands since its inception in 1927, environmental issues, rising house prices and demographic trends have resulted in a stronger Greens vote at recent elections. The Liberal Party elected not to field a candidate. The seat was won by the Greens on a swing of more than 11.5%. The electoral district of Monbulk is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It is situated in the Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne. It includes the towns of Monbulk, Olinda and Silvan as well as some outer suburbs such as Belgrave and Tecoma. The Puffing Billy Railway forms part of the boundary of the electorate, other tourist attractions within the electorate include Mount Dandenong and the Dandenong Ranges National Park, Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve and the Silvan Reservoir. The electoral district of Frankston is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It currently includes the suburbs of Frankston and Frankston South south east of Melbourne. The electorate was first created prior to the 1967 election and the Liberal Party held the seat until the Cain landslide of 1982. Population increases, however, meant the seat was abolished in 1985 and replaced by two electorates—Frankston South and Frankston North.
