Volvo 8700
The Volvo 8700 was a single-decker city and single-decker intercity bus manufactured by Volvo between 2002 and 2011. It was available both with medium floor and as the low-entry Volvo 8700LE, which was even built as the articulated Volvo 8700LEA on a B12BLEA chassis. It was also available as a coach, and even some were delivered with a toilet. As a successor to the Carrus Vega, which was also built and sold as Volvo B10-400 and Volvo 7250 in Germany and Poland, the main difference was that it was built on the Volvo TX platform. The exterior was just as a simple facelift from the old model. The medium floor 8700 was available on B7R, B12B and B12M chassis, with all except the B7R available as a tri-axle bus. The 8700LE was available on B7RLE and B12BLE, with only the B12BLE as a tri-axle bus. In 2011 it was succeeded by the 8900. Thusis
Thusis ( it, Tosana, '' Romansh: Tusàn'') is a municipality in the Viamala Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Mutten merged into the municipality of Thusis. History Thusis is first mentioned in 1156 as ''Tosana''. High-floor describes the interior flooring of commuter vehicles primarily used in public transport such as trains, light rail cars and other rail vehicles, along with buses and trolleybuses. Interior floor height is generally measured above the street surface or above the top of the rail. High-floor designs usually result from packaging requirements: mechanical items such as axles, motors, crankshafts, and/or transmissions, or luggage storage spaces are traditionally placed under the interior floor of these vehicles. Volvo B12BLEA
The Volvo B12BLE is a low-entry city and suburban bus chassis launched in 2001 with a rear-mounted transverse engine. It superseded the Volvo B10BLE and is used as a base for single-decker buses in Europe and Australia. The B12BLE features the 12-litre Volvo DH12 engine, which is based on the D12 engine from Volvo FH trucks. The DH12D engine meets Euro 3 emission level, and DH12E meets levels 4 and 5 with SCR technology. The engine is mounted horizontally, as it was in the B10BLE. The radiator is mounted at the rear on the right-hand side. From its launch in 2001 until 2005, it was available with the Euro 3 DH12D engine and ZF Ecomat2 & Voith D864.3E automatic transmissions.
