2009 Voloshina
2009 Voloshina, provisional designation , is a carbonaceous asteroid from the outer regions of the asteroid belt, approximately 27 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered on 22 October 1968, by Russian astronomer Tamara Smirnova at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in Nauchnyj, on the Crimean peninsula. The asteroid was named for WWII partisan Vera Voloshina. Classification and orbit ''Voloshina'' orbits the Sun in the outer main-belt at a distance of 2.7–3.6  AU once every 5 years and 6 months (2,009 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.14 and an inclination of 3 ° with respect to the ecliptic. In March 1926, ''Voloshina'' was first observed as at Yerkes Observatory and one day later at Heidelberg Observatory. Its observation arc begins at Heidelberg, 62 years prior to its official discovery observation. Vera Voloshina
Vera Danilovna Voloshina (russian: Вера Даниловна Волошина; 30 September 1919 29 November 1941) was a Russian partisan who after joining the Red Army took part in subversive activities against the Nazis in World War II. After being ambushed by the Germans in November 1941, she was brutally hanged near the village of Golovkovo in the Naro-Fominsky District to the southwest of Moscow. According to legend, she was also the model behind Ivan Shadr's '' Girl with an Oar'' sculpture in Moscow's Gorky Park. In 1994, Voloshina was honoured posthumously as a Heroine of the Russian Federation. Ted Woloshyn (born December 1953) is a Toronto broadcaster. He hosted ''The Ted Woloshyn Show'', mornings from 5:30 to 8:30 on CFRB-AM in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from 3 November 1996 until 15 December 2006. He hosted ''Saturdays with Ted'' from 12 to 3pm on Newstalk1010 from 2010 until 2021. He previously worked for Toronto area stations CFNY-FM, CILQ-FM and CKFM-FM. Woloshyn currently lives in Mississauga, Ontario. Woloshyn started his radio career in 1974 at CHIC in Brampton. He moved on to work in Peterborough, Montreal, Hamilton, and finally Toronto. Illya Symon Woloshyn ( – January 19, 2023) was a Canadian actor of Ukrainian descent. Woloshyn started acting at a very young age, playing the role of Jacob in '' Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang'' at Young People's Theatre in Toronto, and later Gavroche in the original Toronto production of ''Les Misérables'' at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in 1988. He did later join the touring production and performed the role in theatres across Canada.
