Volodymyr Melnychenko
Volodymyr Volodymyrovych Melnychenko ( uk, Володимир Володимирович Мельниченко; 25 February 1932 – 19 April 2023) was a Ukrainian visual artist, sculptor, architect, Honored Artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, member of the All-Ukrainian Creative Union "Congress of Writers of Ukraine", honorary member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Naryan-Mar. Worked in architecture, sculpture, painting, graphics, monumental art: mosaic, ceramics, metal, design, plastic modeling. Author of screenplays for documentaries. Worked in art photography. Early life and education Melnychenko was born in Kyiv on 25 January 1932. During the German occupation of Kyiv he lived in a children's boarding school. Naryan-Mar
Naryan-Mar (russian: Нарья́н-Мар; Nenets: Няръянa марˮ, ''Njarjana marꜧ'', literally "red town") is a sea and river port town and the administrative center of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia. The town is situated on the right bank of the Pechora River, upstream from the river's mouth, on the Barents Sea. Naryan-Mar lies north of the Arctic Circle. Population: 17,000 (1973). Ada Rybachuk
Ada Fedorivna Rybachuk (27 June 1931 – 22 September 2010) was a Ukrainian muralist, painter, sculptor and architect, Honored Artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, honorary member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Naryan-Mar. She worked closely with her husband Volodymyr Melnychenko. Biography Childhood and education Rybachuk was born in 1931 in Kyiv. Fedir Rybachuk, Ada's father, personnel officer for the Soviet army, went through the war from the first day to the last one. The rest of the family had to evacuate to Kazakhstan, where Ada finished elementary school. Studied at the Taras Shevchenko Art High School in Kyiv, graduated with the highest honours receiving a gold medal. She studied at the Kiev State Art Institute, which was led by Oleksii Shovkunenko. The 6th World Festival of Youth and Students was held from 28 July to 5 August 1957 in Moscow, capital city of the then Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Rockwell Kent (June 21, 1882 – March 13, 1971) was an American painter, printmaker, illustrator, writer, sailor, adventurer and voyager. Biography Rockwell Kent was born in Tarrytown, New York. Kent was of English descent. He lived much of his early life in and around New York City, where he attended the Horace Mann School. Kent studied with several influential painters and theorists of his day.
