Macedonian First League (basketball)
The Macedonian First League ( mk, Македонска прва лига, ''Makedonska prva liga'') is the top-tier basketball competition in the Republic of North Macedonia organized by the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia. Macedonian Republic League was transformed in to top division level Macedonian Basketball First League. After the transformation teams from the higher level federal Leagues (MZT and Rabotnički) joined the Macedonian First League. Teams Feniks 2010 and Angeli were promoted. Feniks 2010 won Vtora liga, while Angeli were runner-ups. KK Blokotehna
KK Blokotehna ( mk, КК Блокотехна) is a Macedonian basketball club that was based in Gevgelija, North Macedonia. Established in 2016, they played in the Macedonian First League. After winning the BIBL in its second season, the team was dissolved in 2019. History The club was founded in 2016, but it sent their players on loan to Radoviš in the Macedonian Second League. After Radoviš secured a place in the First League, with mutual agreement he transferred his place to Blokotehna. In the season 2017/2018 Blokotehna applied for participation in BIBL. Тhey were eliminated in the semifinals by Levski Lukoil. On April 7, 2019, Blokotehna won for the first time in the history BIBL League trophy beating in the Final Teuta. In season 2018/19 they were hosts of the domestic cup and they played in the Final against Rabotnicki. They made it to the semi-finals in the domestic Championship. MZT Skopje Aerodrom ( mk, МЗТ Скопје Аеродром) is a basketball club based in Skopje, North Macedonia. The club competes in the Macedonian League and ABA League. The club's home ground is Jane Sandanski Arena, but due to small capacity, the matches in the ABA League and EuroCup between 2012 and 2014 were played in Boris Trajkovski Arena. Since the 2014–15 season, all matches are held in the renovated Jane Sandanski Arena. History Crn Drim as a club based in Struga, is famous as one of the most popular clubs in Southwest part of Macedonia. During the last decades it has promoted huge number of young talents. Their first appearance in first tier was in 2003–2004 season, when KK Ohrid 98 refused the offer to get the wild card to compete in First League, and Crn Drim filled the place. In their first season in first tier, they changed the name to MM Koledz because of sponsorship of the fellow college and they finished on 7th place in the regular season and secured place for the next season. The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. KK Vardar ( mk, КК Вардар) is a basketball club based in Skopje, North Macedonia. Established in 1947, the team has won the Macedonian National League five times and the Macedonian Cup once. History On 20 July 1947, MSD Makedonija and ŽSD Pobeda merged into the newly-established Vardar Sports Association, forming a new club named KK Vardar.
