Voices On The Verge
Voices on the Verge was an American folk, country, and rock band formed as a collaboration between four young, formerly-independent, female musicians: Jess Klein, Erin McKeown, Rose Polenzani, and Beth Amsel.Voices On The Verge Ready To Tour', Billboard Magazine The group formed in 1998 as a way to show the merits of each artist. They mostly played songs that one of the artists had previously written and recorded separately. Country Music

Jess Klein
Jess Klein (born 1974) is an American singer-songwriter. A native of Rochester, New York, Klein learned to play acoustic guitar and started writing songs as a college student in Kingston, Jamaica, while working on a thesis "documenting dub poets and studying the musical landscape of that country." Klein moved to Boston upon her return home, and began performing locally. After independently releasing her first two albums, winning the Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Contest, and garnering several Boston Music Award nominations, she was signed to Rykodisc in 2000 by then-president George Howard. Klein's first release for Ryko, ''Draw Them Near'', launched Klein on a worldwide tour where she performed before 70,000 attendees at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan. Erin McKeown
Erin McKeown (pronounced ) is an American multi-instrumentalist and folk-rock singer-songwriter. McKeown's music encompasses pop, swing, rock, folk, and electronic music, as well as several other genres. Music career They grew up in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and now live in Massachusetts. McKeown began their career in the folk scene. They released their first album, ''Monday Morning Cold'' in 1999 on their own label (TVP Records), travelling throughout New England while a student at Brown University in order to promote the record. Although they had begun studying ornithology, they graduated from Brown with a degree in ethnomusicology. Rose Polenzani
Rose Polenzani (born March 7, 1975 in Waukesha, Wisconsin) is an American folk musician. She was raised in the Chicago area and attended Knox College before leaving to pursue a singing career. She is currently living in Boston, Massachusetts. She plays guitar and, less frequently, piano. Her lyrics often blend obscure images and emotions. Polenzani has performed in Lilith Fair in 1998, and the Sundance Film Festival in 1999. She has opened for the Indigo Girls, David Gray, Vic Chesnutt, Patty Griffin, Joan Baez, Jonatha Brooke, Kristin Hersh and Shawn Colvin. Beth Amsel is an American folk singer-songwriter. She grew up on Long Island and moved to Colorado at the age of thirteen. In 1997, she moved to the East Coast and joined the New England folk scene. In 1998, a reviewer described her as having a "voice that seemed destined for something big .... a pure voice that flitted easily from Joni Mitchell soprano to duskier Dar Williams." Another reviewer in 2004 wrote, "Beth Amsel possesses one of the genre's finest voices. She's also a top-notch songwriter". Angela Maria "Ani" DiFranco (; born September 23, 1970) is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. She has released more than 20 albums. Dorothy Snowden "Dar" Williams (born April 19, 1967) is an American pop folk singer-songwriter from Mount Kisco, New York. Rykodisc is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, operating as a unit of WMG's Independent Label Group and is distributed through Alternative Distribution Alliance.
