Vlorë International Airport
Vlora International Airport (alternatively spelled Vlorë International Airport) is an airport under construction since 2021 in the Vjosa-Narta Protected Landscape, 10 km north of the city of Vlorë in Albania. This airport will be the third international airport in Albania after Tirana International Airport and Kukës International Airport. The project also includes the construction of a marina and agri-tourism site as part of the airport. History On 17 January 2018, the Turkish-consortium that built the Istanbul Airport, offered to build Vlorë Airport in a regional project that also paves the way for Albania to set up its national flag carrier (Air Albania) and reduce current ticket prices. Vlorë
Vlorë ( , ; sq-definite, Vlora) is the third most populous city of the Republic of Albania and seat of Vlorë County and Vlorë Municipality. Located in southwestern Albania, Vlorë sprawls on the Bay of Vlorë and is surrounded by the foothills of the Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Adriatic and Ionian Sea Coasts. It experiences a Mediterranean climate, which is affected by the Ceraunian Mountains and the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. A number of regional airports have been renovated but cannot become functional for civil flights because of the 20 year monopoly held by Tirana International Airport's shareholder company over Albanian airspace that started in 2005. Following intensive negotiations to revise the contract terms to open airports for both domestic and external flights earlier, the Albanian government managed to reduce the concession period by 5 years, until 2020. After reaching the agreement with the Albanian Government to end its monopoly on international flights from Albania, Hochtief AirPort sold the operation of TIA to China Everbright Limited. However, in December of 2020 Kastrati group took over the concession of the airport from China Everbright Limited for 71 million euros. Narta Lagoon
The Lagoon of Narta ( sq, Laguna e Nartës) is a lagoon of the Adriatic Sea on the Mediterranean Sea in the central coast of Albania. The lagoon extends north of the Bay of Vlorë on the eastern shore of the Strait of Otranto and is separated from the sea by a narrow littoral strip, consisting of an alluvial dune. It has a surface area of with a maximal depth of . It is situated within the boundaries of the Vjosa-Narta Protected Landscape and has been recognised as an important Bird and Plant Area of international importance. Behgjet Isa Pacolli ; sh, Behđet Isa Pacoli. (born 30 August 1951) is a Kosovar Albanian politician and businessman who served as the first deputy prime minister of Kosovo and minister of foreign affairs from 2017 to 2019 under the Ramush Haradinaj's government.
