Vladislavs Kozlovs
Vladislavs Kozlovs (born 30 November 1987 in Rēzekne) is a Latvian footballer, who most recently played for FK Liepaja in the Latvian Higher League. Club career Early career As a youth player Kozlovs played for his local club SK Dižvanagi (later renamed SK Blāzma), after being spotted by coaches Ž. Ārmanis and E. Seleckis in a youth tournament. He was taken to the first team that played in the Latvian First League in 2005. Kozlovs spent one season in Rēzekne, before moving to Riga after graduation from high-school in 2006. He continued studying in Latvijas Universitāte and played for the high-school team Metta-Latvijas Universitāte. Kozlovs had 3 successful seasons in the Latvian First League with them, playing there until 2010. FK Jelgava In 2010 the starlet was spotted by the Latvian Higher League newcomers FK Jelgava, as they signed a contract with him before the start of the season. The Latvian First League ( lv, Latvijas Pirmā līga, 1. līga) is the second tier of football in Latvia and is organised by the Latvian Football Federation. History The league was founded together with other Latvian football competitions in 1992. From 2007 to 2008, the tournament was known as the Traffic 1. līga, due to its first sponsorship deal concluded with the "Traffic auto advert" advertising company. Belarusian Premier League
The Belarusian Premier League or the Vyšejšaja Liha or the Vysheyshaya Liga ( be, Вышэйшая ліга, russian: Высшая лига, "Top League") is the top division of professional football in Belarus, and is organized by the Belarusian Football Federation. The number of teams in the competition has varied over the years from as high as 17 (1992–93 season) to as low as 11 (2012). As of 2016, the league included 16 teams. Each team plays every other team twice during the course of the season. At the end of the season, the two teams with the fewest points are automatically relegated to the Belarusian First League, while the third worst team plays a promotion-relegation playoff against the third best team from the second tier. Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. The club was founded as Odd in 1917 but were not allowed to play amateur league matches until 1928, when they took the present name. Latvian Football Cup
The Latvian Football Cup () is the main knockout cup competition in Latvian football. Since 2021, its full name is Responsible Game Latvian Football Cup (''Atbildīgas spēles Latvijas kauss'') due to the sponsorship by sports betting company William Hill. The tournament was launched in 1937, replacing the previous knockout tournament – the Riga Football Cup. The competition is a knockout (single elimination) tournament. From 1937 to 2008 and again since 2017, all of the games of the tournament are played within the year. Jānis Ikaunieks
Jānis Ikaunieks (28 April 1912 Riga – 27 April 1969 Riga) was a Latvian astronomer, who studied the characteristics of the red giants, and, in particular carbon stars. He founded the ''Latvian Astronomical Society'' and the popular science magazine ''The Starry Sky'' and was the first director of the Baldone Observatory at Baldone near Riga, Latvia. Biography The main objects of Ikaunieks’ scientific investigations were red giants, and particularly carbon stars. Skonto FC was a Latvian football club, active from 1991 until 2016. The club played at the Skonto Stadium in Riga. Skonto won the Virsliga in the first 14 seasons of the league's resumption (15 in total), and often provided the core of the Latvia national football team. With those 14 national championships in a row, they set a European record, men and women's football combined, until the women of Faroese club KÍ Klaksvík won their 14th championship in a row in 2013. The 2014 Latvian Higher League was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Latvia. FK Ventspils are the defending champions. The season started on 21 March 2014.
