Moldovan Parliament
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is the supreme representative body of the Republic of Moldova, the only state legislative authority, being a unicameral structure composed of 101 elected MPs on lists, for a period of 4 years. Parliament is elected by universal vote, equal directly, secret and freely expressed. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is elected by the Parliament, with a minimum of 52 votes. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, on a proposal of the Central Electoral Commission, decides to validate or invalidate the mandate of the Member of Parliament. The mandate is invalid in the case of violation of electoral legislation. The Parliament is meeting at the convening of the Speaker of the Parliament within 30 days of the elections. Valeriu Ghilețchi
Valeriu Ghileţchi (born July 8, 1960, in Pînzăreni,Făleşti, Pînzăreni) is a Moldovan Baptist clergyman and politician. Biography Working originally as an engineer, Ghileţchi was ordained Baptist pastor in 1996 following a programme of theological studies at Emmanuel Baptist University in Oradea, Romania. He holds undergraduate diploma in theology. Since 1994, he served as rector of the Holy Trinity Moldovan Baptist Institute and then as Academic Dean of the College of Theology and Education in Chisinau, Rep. Moldova. He served for two periods as bishop of the Union of Christian Evangelical Baptist Churches of Moldova. At present time Ghiletchi is associate pastor at Jesus the Savior Baptist Church in Chisinau, Rep. Moldova. Nicolae Timofti (; born 22 December 1948 in Ciutulești, Moldavian SSR) is a Moldovan jurist and politician who was President of Moldova from 23 March 2012 until 23 December 2016. He served as head of Moldova's Supreme Magistrate Council and was elected President by parliament on 16 March 2012. Early life and education Timofti was born to Elena (born 1927) and Vasile Timofti in Ciutulești, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union, and has four siblings. At the beginning of 1949, his family moved to Florești. On 6 July 1949, his paternal grandfather Tudor Timofti was deported by Soviet authorities to the Amur region, where he died in 1953. Monica Babuc (born 29 March 1964) is a politician and historian from the Republic of Moldova, who was Minister of Culture of the Republic of Moldova in four consecutive cabinets ( Leancă, Gaburici, Streleţ and Filip) from 2013 to 2019. Pavel Filip (born 10 April 1966, Pănășești, Strășeni) is an engineer and politician from the Republic of Moldova. In 2001–2008 he was the director of the Joint-stock company "Bucuria" and in 2008–2011, general manager of Tutun-CTC joint stock company. He was then Minister of Information and Communication Technology in the Governments headed by Filat (2), Leancă, Gaburici, and Streleț since 14 January 2011 when he replaced Alexandru Oleinic (2009–2011) and by his investment at the prime minister position on 20 January 2016. Natalia Gherman (; born 20 March 1969) is a Moldovan politician, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova from May 2013 to January 2016. She has served as Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia (UNRCCA) since 2017.
