Vladimir Veselica
Vladimir Veselica (23 January 1938 – 11 December 2013) was a Croatian politician, economist and university professor born in Glavice near Sinj. He graduated and received PhD in economics from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb in 1970. In the aftermath of the Croatian Spring, Veselica was removed from his post of a lecturer at the Higher School of Foreign Trade in 1972 as the supporter of the ousted leadership of the League of Communists of Croatia and the ideas championed by Matica hrvatska. In 1974–1989, Veselica performed managerial functions in Konstruktor-Split construction company. In 1989, he founded and chaired the Croatian Democratic Party (HDS) established shortly before the 1990 Croatian parliamentary election. He was a member of the Croatian Parliament in 1990–1992 and a minister without portfolio in the 1991 Cabinet of Franjo Gregurić. Croatian Parliament
The Croatian Parliament ( hr, Hrvatski sabor) or the Sabor is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of Croatia. Under the terms of the Croatian Constitution, the Sabor represents the people and is vested with legislative power. The Sabor is composed of 151 members elected to a four-year term on the basis of direct, universal and equal suffrage by secret ballot. Seats are allocated according to the Croatian Parliament electoral districts: 140 members of the parliament are elected in multi-seat constituencies. An additional three seats are reserved for the diaspora and Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while national minorities have eight places reserved in parliament. Marko Veselica (January 9, 1936 – February 17, 2017 in Zagreb) was a Croatian politician, economist and university professor. During the Croatian Spring, Marko Veselica developed a reputation of being a Croatian nationalist. He was close to Ivan Milas. The Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography ( hr, Leksikografski zavod Miroslav Krleža or LZMK) is Croatia's national lexicographical institution. Based in Zagreb, it was originally established in 1950 as the national lexicographical institute of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It was renamed after its founder, the Croatian writer Miroslav Krleža, in 1983. The Third Government of the Republic of Croatia ( hr, Treća Vlada Republike Hrvatske) or The Government of National Unity ( Croatian: ''Vlada nacionalnog jedinstva'') was the Croatian Government cabinet led by Prime Minister Franjo Gregurić. It was announced on 17 July 1991 in response to the escalation of the Croatian War of Independence.
