Vladimir Patkin
Vladimir Leonidovich Patkin (born 8 December 1945) is a Russian former volleyball player who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1972 Summer Olympics and 1976 Summer Olympics.He was born in Bobrov, Voronezh, Russia. Volleyball career He won a gold medal at the 1971 European Athletics Championships. He a member of the Soviet team which won the bronze medal in the 1972 Olympics. He played six matches. He was also a member of the Soviet team that won the silver medal A silver medal in sports and other similar areas involving competition is a medal made of, or plated with, silver awarded to the second-place finisher, or runner-up, of contests or competitions such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, etc ... at the 1976 Olympics. He later became the Secretary General of the Russian Volleyball Federation. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court.
