Vlaams Economisch Verbond
The Vlaams Economisch Verbond (VEV) is a Flemish employers' organization and lobbying group. The main objectives of the organization were the development of the Flemish economy and to improve the status of Flemish as a business language in Flanders. It is an important partner of the Flemish government on business in Flanders, and also participates in the Socio-economic Council of Flanders. History It was founded in 1908, by among others Lieven Gevaert as the ''Vlaamsch Handelsverbond'', to create a Flemish counterpart of the Federation of Belgian Enterprises, and it became the VEV in 1926. From 1971 to 1993, René De Feyter was the managing director of the VEV. In 2004, VEV formed an alliance with the Flemish Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI's) to create . Prince Albert Fund
The Prince Albert Fund is a Belgian non-profit organization (fund) which provides a scholarship to young Belgian professionals to give them the opportunity to carry out a project for a Belgian company in international business development, outside Europe. The fund is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation and directed by a steering committee consisting of alumni of the Fund and representatives of FEB-VBO, VOKA, UWE and BECI. History About 1965, when economic decentralization was becoming more pronounced in Belgium, Walloon business leaders felt the need for more organisation. Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) was founded by the Flemish government in 2005, by the fusion of 'Export Flanders' and 'Service of Investment in Flanders'. FIT helps Flemish companies expand their business abroad and assists foreign companies in finding Flemish suppliers of quality goods and services. Flanders Investment and Trade facilitate investment projects in Flanders and give support to Flemish export companies. The FIT is headed by Claire Tillekaerts.
