Vizha
''Vizha'' () is a 2013 Tamil film directed by Barathi Balakumaran. It stars Mahendran and Malavika Menon. The film, based on the award-winning short film ''Uthiri'', portrays the love story of Sundaram (Mahendran), who plays the thappu instrument at death functions, and Rakkamma (Malavika), an oppari singer. Extensively shot in Madurai and several scenes were shots on Ayyanputhur (A small village near Ordnance Estate, Trichy), Tiruchirappalli district, it has music composed by James Vasanthan, while U. K. Senthilkumar worked as the cinematographer and Praveen K. L.-N. B. Srikanth edited the film. Mahendran (actor)
Mahendran is an Indian actor who works in Tamil and Telugu language films. He started acting at the age of 3 and has appeared in over 100 films in six languages as a child actor, a record in India. He is a recipient of two Nandi Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. In 2013 he played the lead in ''Vizha'', which was his breakthrough as an adult actor. Career Mahendran made his debut with K. S. Ravikumar's ''Nattamai'' (1994). He twice won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Child Artist, for ''Thaikulame Thaikulame'' (1995) and ''Kumbakonam Gopalu'' (1998). Gaana Bala
Bala Murugan, better known by his stage name Gana Bala is an Indian playback singer in Tamil cinema. He rose to prominence after rendering the songs 'Aadi Pona Aavani' and 'Nadukadalula Kappala' from the soundtrack of ''Attakathi''. He has predominantly sung songs belonging to the gaana genre of Tamil Nadu. He has been credited for reviving the gaana genre in Tamil Cinema after 'Thenisai Thendral' Deva. Yugendran (born Yugendran Vasudevan on 20 December 1976) is an Indian actor and singer who has sung hundreds of songs in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. He is also an occasional music director and host.
