Vivus!
''Vivus!'' is a live album released by American death metal band Death through Relapse Records. It contains two previously released live albums: '' Live in L.A. (Death & Raw)'' and ''Live in Eindhoven''. Both shows contained on ''Vivus!'' were recorded in 1998. Disc one features the band at Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles, while disc two is a recording of the band on the festival stage at Dynamo Open Air. The band's manager, Eric Greif, has stated that the inspiration for the set and its title was the Kiss album '' Alive!''. ''Live in Cottbus '98'' is a DVD by American band Death. It was recorded in Cottbus, Germany in 1998 and released on November 11, 2005, through Nuclear Blast. The DVD was released, along with the rerelease of ''The Sound of Perseverance'', in order to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Chuck Schuldiner's death. The album was recorded directly through the soundboard and as a result, is very rough. The DVD also lacked a proper track listing. Death was an American death metal band formed in Altamonte Springs, Florida, in 1984 by Chuck Schuldiner. Death is considered to be among the most influential bands in heavy metal music and a pioneering force in death metal. The band's 1987 debut album, ''Scream Bloody Gore'', has been widely regarded as one of the first death metal records, alongside the first records from Possessed and Necrophagia. Death had a revolving lineup, with Schuldiner being the sole consistent member. The group's style also progressed, from the raw sound on its first two albums to a more sophisticated one in its later stage. The band ceased to exist after Schuldiner died of glioma and pneumonia in December 2001, but remains an enduring influence on heavy metal. Scott Clendenin
Scott Clendenin (January 17, 1968 – March 24, 2015) was an American musician most notable for his time spent in the bands Death and Control Denied, both of which were formed by Chuck Schuldiner. Following Schuldiner's passing, Death disbanded, which left the members to go about their own paths, with Clendenin being the only member to retire for the time being. In 2012, he came out of retirement to play for Death to All, former members of Death paying tribute to Schuldiner, as well as members of Cynic, Intronaut, Abysmal Dawn, and Exhumed. Clendenin died on March 24, 2015, with former bandmates and Death's manager Eric Greif expressing their shock and sympathy. Shannon Hamm
Shannon Hamm is a death metal music, death metal guitarist who played in Death (metal band), Death from 1996 until their break-up in 2001. He then joined Chuck Schuldiner's second band Control Denied, which ended with the death of Schuldiner in 2001. Before Death, he was a locally well known guitarist in the Texas underground metal scene. He was particularly good friends with Dimebag Darrell, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott of Pantera and Damageplan. According to Abbott, Hamm "out shredded" Darrell in Pantera's glam metal days while Hamm was in a band named Metalstorm. Shannon is almost always seen playing a Jackson Soloist guitar. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Thomas Richard Christy Jr. (born April 1, 1974) is an American drummer and radio personality, best known for being the former drummer for several heavy metal bands since the early 1990s, most notably Death, and his tenure on ''The Howard Stern Show''. Born and raised in Kansas, Christy took an interest in rock and heavy metal music in his youth, and started playing the drums at age ten. He played in several bands while at school. Christy's music career began in 1992 when he joined the Springfield, Missouri group Public Assassin, and also worked as an electrician. In 1996, Christy formed Burning Inside and relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he joined and toured with several popular heavy metal bands until 2004, including Acheron, Death, Control Denied, Iced Earth, and Leash Law. An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist).
