Laura Bispuri
Laura Bispuri (born 20 August 1977) is an Italian director and screenwriter. Biography After graduating in Cinema at the Sapienza University of Rome, Bispuri attended the Fandango Lab Workshop, a school of cinema in Rome. After directing a documentary named ''Via del Pigneto'' in 2003, Bispuri made her first short film ''Passing Time'' in 2010, which earned her the David di Donatello for Best Short Film. The Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF), is one of Asia’s oldest international film festivals. Founded in 1976, the festival features different movies, filmmakers from different countries in Hong Kong. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. ''Sworn Virgin'' ( it, Vergine giurata) is a 2015 internationally co-produced drama film directed by Laura Bispuri. It was screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot The story takes place in Albania. In a rugged, impoverished world where women are treated as chattel, some women escape their hard, gender-determined fate by claiming the status of “sworn virgins” before a dozen male elders, after which they don male garb and live as men. They are then granted the privilege to engage in all male activities such as carrying rifles and hunting, but they are prohibited from engaging in sexual activity with either gender. In Albania's remote mountain villages, this custom dates back at least a couple of centuries is still practiced. Pippo Delbono
Pippo Delbono (born 1 June 1959 in Varazze, Italy) is an Italian author, actor, and director. Biography Pippo Delbono began training in traditional theatre in Denmark, studying the principles of oriental theatre, through a rigorous work on body and voice. Later, in Germany, Delbono was invited by Pina Bausch to follow her work. At the beginning of the 80's he founded the Compagnia Pippo Delbono, creating most of his works with them, from Il ''Tempo degli Assassini'' (1987) to ''La Gioia'' (2018).
