Vivian Trimble
Vivian Elizabeth Trimble (born May 24, 1963 in New York City) is an American musician, best known as the keyboardist in the band Luscious Jackson from 1991 to 1998. She also joined bandmate Jill Cunniff under the name Kostars and recorded an album released in 1996. After leaving Luscious Jackson in April 1998, Trimble formed a duo with Josephine Wiggs named Dusty Trails Dusty Trails is an American music duo consisting of Vivian Trimble (formerly of Kostars and Luscious Jackson) and Josephine Wiggs (formerly of the Breeders). Luscious Jackson
Luscious Jackson is an alternative rock/ rap-rock group formed in 1991. The band's name is a reference to former American basketball player Lucious Jackson. The original band consisted of Jill Cunniff (vocals, bass), Gabby Glaser (vocals, guitar), and Vivian Trimble (keyboards, vocals). Drummer Kate Schellenbach joined the band midway through the recording of their 1992 debut EP ''In Search of Manny''. Between 1993 and 2000, the band released one EP, three full-length LPs, and ten singles on the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal label. Their biggest hit—and only ''Billboard'' Hot 100 entry—was "Naked Eye". Other singles include "Here," "Daughters of the Kaos", "Citysong", "Under Your Skin" and " Ladyfingers". Jill Cunniff
Jill Cunniff (born August 17, 1966) is an American musician and artist, best known as the lead singer of the band Luscious Jackson. Cunniff was born in New York City and attended college in San Francisco. After returning to New York in 1991, she formed Luscious Jackson with friend Gabby Glaser. Cunniff plays bass, sings lead vocals, and has been the chief songwriter of the band. Cunniff appeared in a 1996 episode of the Adult Swim series ''Space Ghost Coast to Coast'' as herself. That same year, she provided the voice of Laura for the English localization of the Sega Saturn game ''Enemy Zero''. Cunniff joined bandmate Vivian Trimble under the name Kostars and recorded the album ''Klassics with a "K"'', released in 1996. Kostars
Kostars was an alternative/pop-rock side project formed by Vivian Trimble and Jill Cunniff while on a headlining tour with Luscious Jackson in 1995. Trimble and Cunniff, who needed an additional outlet, wrote under the name Kostars and released the album '' Klassics with a "K"'' in 1996. The album was recorded at Luscious Jackson drummer Kate Schellenbach's home studio. It featured drums by Schellenbach and a guest guitar spot by Gabrielle Glaser (also of Luscious Jackson), as well as Gene and Dean Ween of Ween, and was engineered/recorded by Josephine Wiggs, bass player of the Breeders, marking her first full-length engineering project. A few years later, Wiggs and Trimble would release a self-titled album together as Dusty Trails. Miranda Cordelia Susan Josephine Wiggs (born 26 February 1963) is an English multi-instrumentalist rock musician, best known for her work as bassist in the alternative rock bands The Breeders and The Perfect Disaster. Dusty Trails is an American music duo consisting of Vivian Trimble (formerly of Kostars and Luscious Jackson) and Josephine Wiggs (formerly of the Breeders). Trimble provides vocals and Wiggs sings harmony vocals. Their 2000 debut album, ''Dusty Trails'', has been described as mood music and is heavy on keyboards, percussion and bass. It has also been compared to 1960s French and Brazilian pop. Half of the album's songs are instrumental and the other half feature Trimble on lead vocals.
