Vivian Kavanagh
Vivian Claude Kavanagh (2 June 1882 – 9 August 1917) was a New Zealand cricketer. He played one first-class cricket, first-class match for Auckland cricket team, Auckland in 1912/13. He was also a leading field hockey, hockey player, who represented Auckland over many years as a half-back. He fought in the Second Boer War, and enlisted to fight in World War I. He was killed in action on the Ypres Salient, and is buried at the Prowse Point Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery, Prowse Point War Cemetery. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps.
