Vives (album)
''Vives'' is the fifteenth studio album by Colombian singer Carlos Vives, released on November 10, 2017, through Sony Music Latin. The album was produced by Vives alongside Andrés Castro and features collaborations with singers such as Sebastián Yatra, Shakira, Thalía and Cynthia Montaño, among others. At the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, the album won Best Contemporary Tropical Album, the fourth time Vives had won the category, while the song " Robarte un Beso" was nominated for Song of the Year. Additionally, the song "La Bicicleta" won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year two years prior at the 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. The album also received nominations for Best Latin Pop Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards and for Tropical Album of the Year at the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo (born 7 August 1961) is a Colombian singer, songwriter and actor. He is known for his interpretation of traditional music styles of Colombia such as vallenato, cumbia, champeta, bambuco and porro as well as genres such as Latin pop, reggaeton, dance pop and tropical music. Having sold over 30 million records worldwide, Vives is one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time. He is regarded as one of the most influential artists in the world as he has progressively helped vallenato gain popularity globally by combining traditional vallenato music with pop/rock music, forming a subgenre that has come to be known as "vallenato-pop". Cali & El Dandee are a Colombian Latin Pop Music urban duo, consisting of brothers Alejandro Rengifo (Cali) and Mauricio Rengifo (Dandee). They started their career in 2008 and have been together since. Besides singing, Dandee is also active as a producer. He co-produced Luis Fonsi's major hit "Despacito". Andrés Torres (born 1987) is a Colombian record producer and musician, best known for producing the 2017 song "Despacito" by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee. Torres made his professional debut in 2012 as an assistant engineer after playing drums in four bands during his teenage years. Shortly after that, he won a scholarship for drummers at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and produced his first album thanks to Colombian producer Andrés Saavedra. Juan Luis Morera Luna (; born December 19, 1978), best known as his stage name Wisin (), is a Puerto Rican reggaeton rapper, singer and record producer, best known as a member of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. Since October 2012, chart rankings are based on digital sales, radio airplay, and online streaming, and only predominantly Spanish language songs are allowed to rank. The chart was established by the magazine on September 6, 1986, and was originally based on airplay on Latin music radio stations.
