Vittorio Marzotto
Vittorio Marzotto (13 June 1922, Valdagno – 4 February 1999) was an Italian racing driver. He drove 16 sports car races between 1948 and 1955, mainly in Ferrari's, his best results being two victories and three second places. He also entered a Formula 1-race in 1952, the French Grand Prix, as reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari. However, all Ferrari works drivers started the race, so Marzotto was unable to and he never entered Formula 1 again. Marzotto was the son of Count Gaetano Marzotto and he was the oldest of four brothers ( Paolo, Giannino, Umberto Umberto is a masculine Italian given name. It is the Italian form of Humbert. Sergio Sighinolfi
Sergio Sighinolfi (April 25, 1925 in Modena – September 7 1956 in San Venanzio) was an Italian racing driver. He entered a Formula One race in 1952 as reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari. But as all the Ferrari drivers started the race, Sighinolfi could not. He never participated in Formula One again. He did however enter 37 sports car races between 1948 and 1955, his best results being two victories, three second-place finishes and two third-place finishes. The Ferrari 225 S was a sports racing car produced by Ferrari in 1952. It was an evolution over the preceding Ferrari 212 Export with important engine upgrades that greatly improved power output. The model was extensively used in competition, winning many international races. The most important include 1952 Monaco Grand Prix for sports cars, Portuguese Grand Prix, Coppa d'Oro di Sicilia, Coppa della Toscana, Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti and many others. The Dolomites Gold Cup Race (translation: ''Coppa d' Oro delle Dolomiti'') was a car race on public roads open to traffic, which was run in the Dolomite Mountains of northern Italy for ten years from 1947 to 1956. It took place along an anti-clockwise circuit that was 304 km (188 miles) long and usually took about 3 to 4 hours to complete the one lap that made up the race distance, with the start and finish in the town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The circuit went through many Italian towns, and it had nearly 2,000 meters (2 km, 1.25 miles, or 6,600 feet) of elevation change- more than 6 1/2 times that of the Nürburgring and the Isle of Man TT track. Circuito da Boavista is a street circuit in Porto, Portugal, which was used twice for the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix. The original course began at the harbor-front "Esplanada do Rio de Janeiro", continued on "Avenida da Boavista", (hence the circuit's name), and then twisted its way through small neighborhoods back to the start-finish line. The first Grand Prix was held in 1958, and saw an act of sportsmanship by Stirling Moss. Moss came to the defense of his countryman and title rival Mike Hawthorn, who faced a penalty for having driven towards oncoming traffic after a spin. Coppa della Toscana (meaning Tuscany Cup from Italian) was a sports car race held on the roads of Tuscany, through Livorno and Florence, between 1949 and 1954. History For the 1949 season of the Mille Miglia race, it was decided that this years edition would bypass the city of Florence. As a direct consequence of this decision, the Automobile Club of Florence decided to organize an alternative race that would run in Tuscany. The new event would enable sports cars and touring cars to compete through the streets of the Tuscan cities and on the roads around the region. The main organizer of this race was the director of the Florence Automobile Club, Amos Pampaloni who also negotiated with a neighboring automobile clubs to receive their support.
