Vitaly L. Ginzburg
Vitaly Lazarevich Ginzburg, Fellow of the Royal Society, ForMemRS (russian: Вита́лий Ла́заревич Ги́нзбург, link=no; 4 October 1916 – 8 November 2009) was a Russian people, Russian Physics, physicist who was honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics, Nobel Prize in Physics in 2003, together with Alexei Alexeyevich Abrikosov, Alexei Abrikosov and Anthony James Leggett, Anthony Leggett for their "pioneering contributions to the theory of superconductors and superfluids." RDS-37
RDS-37 was the Soviet Union's first two-stage hydrogen bomb, first tested on 22 November 1955. The weapon had a nominal yield of approximately 3 megatons. It was scaled down to 1.6 megatons for the live test. Leading to the RDS-37 The RDS-37 was a reaction to the efforts of the United States. Previously, the Soviet Union allegedly used many of their spies in the U.S. to help them generate methods and ideas for the nuclear bomb. The Soviet atomic bomb project was the classified research and development program that was authorized by Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union to develop nuclear weapons during and after World War II. Sir Anthony James Leggett (born 26 March 1938) is a British-American theoretical physicist and professor emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
