Vitalstatistix (arts Organisation)
Vitalstatistix, formerly Vitalstatistix National Women's Theatre, is a women's theatre company based in Port Adelaide, South Australia. History Vitalstatistix was founded in 1984 by artists Roxy Bent, Ollie Black and Margie Fisher. It was originally based in the old Holden factory in Port Adelaide, but since 1992 has been housed in the heritage-listed Waterside Workers Hall. It became known an Australia's most prolific full-time professional women's theatre company and was instrumental in the development of many female directors, actors, writers and designers. Port Adelaide
Port Adelaide is a port-side region of Adelaide, approximately northwest of the Adelaide CBD. It is also the namesake of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield council, a suburb, a federal and state electoral division and is the main port for the city of Adelaide. Port Adelaide played an important role in the formative decades of Adelaide and South Australia, with the port being early Adelaide's main supply and information link to the rest of the world. Its Kaurna name, although not officially adopted as a dual name, is Yartapuulti. Finegan Kruckemeyer
Finegan Kruckemeyer (born 1981) is an Australian playwright. Early life Kruckemeyer was born in 1981 in Cork, Ireland, of a German father and Irish mother. The family moved to Adelaide, South Australia when Finegan was eight years old, and he attended Unley Primary School and Glenunga High School and became involved with Unley Youth Theatre. Career Kruckemeyer honed his skills working with Independent Theatre and Brink Productions in Adelaide, before moving to Tasmania in his mid-twenties to pursue a career as a playwright. Roslyn Oades
Roslyn Oades is an Australian actress, puppeteer and theater maker. Her acting work includes on iconic Australian TV shows ''A Country Practice'' as a guest actor, and a two year stint on the 47-time Logie Award-winning show ''Home and Away'' as Kylie Burton. Her character in ''Home and Away'' died from a drug overdose while in custody. She also played Remy in ''Toybox'' from 2010 to 2014. Oades has been described as one of Australia’s leading documentary theatremakers, noted particularly for her work pioneering headphone verbatim techniques where actors near simultaneously speak the recorded words of real people as they listen to them. The South Australian Ruby Awards, also known as the Ruby Awards, are annual awards which recognise outstanding achievement in South Australia’s arts and culture sector. They were named in honour of arts champion Dame Ruby Litchfield (1912–2001) . History and description The Ruby Awards were introduced in 2006 by the Government of South Australia, named in honour of the late arts patron Dame Ruby Litchfield.
