Vital Signs Discography
Vital Signs was a Pakistani pop band formed in Rawalpindi in 1986 by keyboardist, Rohail Hyatt, and bassist, Shahzad Hasan, who were soon joined by guitarist, Nusrat Hussain and vocalist, Junaid Jamshed. The band released four studio albums, as well as two compilations, ten singles, one video album, one remix album and several music videos. Guitarist Nusrat Hussain left the band after the band's first single release and was replaced by Salman Ahmad. They released their self-titled debut album in 1989; which had the single hit "Dil Dil Pakistan". Salman was later replaced by lead guitarist Rizwan-ul-Haq who played on the second album ''Vital Signs 2'' released in 1991. In 1993, Rizwan-ul-Haq left the band to join Awaz and replaced by Aamir Zaki. Zaki played lead guitars on the third and fourth studio albums. Vital Signs (band)
Vital Signs () were a Pakistani pop and rock band formed in Rawalpindi in 1986 by two Peshawar University students. After their formation, they soon became Pakistan's first and most commercially successful as well as critically acclaimed act. The band's popular lineup consisted of keyboardist Rohail Hyatt, bassist Shahzad Hasan, guitarist Nusrat Hussain and vocalist Junaid Jamshed. Rooted in Rawalpindi with some influence from Western music during the conservative regime of President Zia-ul-Haq, the Vital Signs utilizes several genres, ranging from pop music to rock, and often incorporating classical and other elements in innovative ways. In the early 1990s, they came to be perceived by many Pakistani fans and country's cultural observers as a "promising new era of cultural revival". Awaz ( ur, آواز ) was a Pakistani pop band that formed in Islamabad in 1992. The group was formed by Haroon Rashid, lead vocalist, who was soon joined by keyboardist Faakhir Mehmood and lead guitarist Asad Ahmed. Awaz were one of the pioneer bands of the local pop music scene and were highly skilled and talented musicians, producers and composers. The band's skill at composing and producing was often overlooked and the focus was on their good looks, glossy videos, catchy songs and wild stage performances. ''Vital Signs 1'' was the first album of the Pakistani band Vital Signs. Fresh from the success of their smash hit Dil Dil Pakistan Vital Signs went to work on their debut album, with Shoaib Mansoor providing the lyrics to all but 2 songs. Dil Dil Pakistan had unparalleled success, something which no song has ever been able to achieve in Pakistan, on its way to becoming one of the most famous songs ever written. Rohail Hyatt produced the album, his first shot at music production. He is now known as one of the best Music Producers in Pakistan. The songs were varied in their arrangements, ranging from rock (Do Pal Ka Jeevan, Chehra) to bubblegum pop (Yaadein). ''Hum Tum'' ( ) was the fourth studio album of the Pakistani band Vital Signs released in January 1995. This was the last studio album released by the band after which Junaid Jamshed, vocalist of the band, went on to pursue a career as a solo singer, Shehzad Hasan, bassist, concentrated on his work as a music producer and Rohail Hyatt, keyboards, formed a production company. "Hum Tum" was the highest selling Vital Signs album of all time. The album included famous songs like "Janaan Janaan", acoustic pop song, "Guzray Zamanay Walay" the patent trademark sound of the band and "Dair Ho Gayee" a ghazal like track taken from "Nain Sey Nain". Shoaib Mansoor (Full name, Shoaib Mansoor), ( ur, ; born 4 February 1951 Karachi) is a Pakistani television and film director, writer, producer, lyricist and musician of Muhajir origin. Active in the television industry since 1980, he first found success for composing and writing the song Dil Dil Pakistan in 1987, thereby introducing Vital Signs musical band in mainstream Pakistani television. He was also well-recognised for directing many critically acclaimed hit drama series on Pakistani television. Aamir Zaki (April 8, 1968 – June 2, 2017) was a Saudi born Pakistani guitarist-songwriter and composer. Zaki is considered by many as one of the most influential guitarists in Pakistan's history. He is considered to be among the pioneers of Rock music in Pakistan. Career Early career Zaki started out his music career with a band named The Scratch in 1987, their first album was named ''The Bomb'', whose title track was about the Empress Market bomb blast. The song gave Zaki a little recognition. On an advice from his friend, he quit The Scratch in 1988 to form his own band, thus in process of doing so he started touring with Alamgir. Dil Dil Pakistan ( ur, ) is the most popular patriotic Pakistani song, sung by Junaid Jamshed. It was released in 1987 by the pop band Vital Signs. The song was featured in the band's debut album, ''Vital Signs 1'', in 1987. Dil Dil Pakistan is said to be the Pakistan's second national anthem.
