Vista Radio
Vista Radio Ltd. (also formerly known as Vista Broadcast Group) is a Canadian radio broadcasting company. The company only owned stations in British Columbia until 2007, when it expanded outside the province by acquiring an existing station in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and launching a new one in Grande Prairie, Alberta. It has since also expanded into Ontario, with the acquisition of Haliburton Broadcasting Group in 2012. Vista Radio was founded by Paul Mann, Jason Mann, Margot Micallef, Barb Fairclough and Bryan Edwards in 2004. On April 23, 2012, Vista announced a deal to acquire Haliburton Broadcasting Group, a broadcast group with 24 stations in small or mid-sized markets in Ontario, in cooperation with Westerkirk Capital. The deal was approved by the CRTC on October 19, 2012. CJLT-FM
CJLT-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 93.7 FM in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The station is owned by Vista Radio and broadcasts a Christian music format branded as ''93.7 Praise FM''. The station originally began broadcasting in 2003 as an LPFM on 99.5 FM, then in 2007 received Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, CRTC approval to move to operate as a high powered station at 93.7 FM. On April 5, 2011, the station applied to the CRTC to change CJLT-FM's frequency from 93.7 MHz to 103.3 MHz, as well as increase their power to 58,000 watts; furthermore, they also requested to rescind their "specialty format" status, which would enable them to switch to a soft adult contemporary format. CJOC-FM (94.1 FM) is a radio station in Lethbridge, Alberta. Owned by Vista Radio, it broadcasts a classic hits format. History The station was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission on August 2, 2006, and officially launched on July 3, 2007. The CJOC calls were previously used by an AM station in Lethbridge, which now broadcasts as CJRX-FM. That station has no ownership association with the current CJOC. CFCP-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts an active rock format at 98.9 FM in Courtenay, British Columbia. The station is branded as World Class Rock - 98.9 Jet FM and is owned by Vista Broadcast Group. The station originally began broadcasting in 1959 at 1440 AM until November 11, 1999, when the station moved to the FM dial as Magic 98.9 with an adult contemporary format. Castlegar is the second-largest community in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. CIQC-FM is a Canadian radio station that broadcasts a hot adult contemporary format at 99.7 FM in Campbell River, British Columbia. The station was originally known as The River with an adult contemporary format before rebranding as 99.7 2day FM and is owned by Vista Radio. The station originally began broadcasting at 1490 AM in 1963, with the call sign CFWB. On August 30, 2007, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) partially approved an application by Vista Broadcast Group to convert the station to the FM band but required the station to choose a different frequency than it had originally applied for. Burns Lake is a rural village in the North-western-Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada, incorporated in 1923. The village had a population of 1,779 as of the 2016 Census. Owned by Vista Broadcast Group, the station airs a country music format and is branded as Country 840 AM. History The station's license was issued on December 15, 1970 to Cariboo Broadcasters Ltd., which owned several other stations.
