Vista House
Vista House is a museum at Crown Point (Oregon), Crown Point in Multnomah County, Oregon, that also serves as a memorial to Oregon Trail, Oregon pioneers and as a Comfort station (rest), comfort station for travelers on the Historic Columbia River Highway. The site, situated on a rocky promontory, is above the Columbia River on the south side of the Columbia River Gorge. The octagonal stone building was designed by Edgar M. Lazarus in the style of Art Nouveau, and completed in 1918 after nearly two years of construction. In 2000, restoration on the building began, and lasted five years. The Vista House is located within the Corbett, Oregon, Corbett locality, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Vista House is a popular place for viewing the aurora borealis. Multnomah County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the county's population was 815,428. Multnomah County is part of the Portland–Vancouver– Hillsboro, OR–WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Though smallest in area, Multnomah County is the state's most populous county.
