Vision With Values
Vision with Values ( es, Visión con Valores, ViVa) is a political party in Guatemala. History The party was established on 20 January 2007 by Harold Caballeros. It contested the 2011 general elections in alliance with Encuentro por Guatemala, nominating nominated Caballeros as its presidential candidate; Suger finished fifth in a field of ten candidates with 6% of the vote. In the Congressional elections the parties won six of the 158 seats. After the alliance with Encuentro por Guatemala ended, the party contested the elections in 2015 alone with Zury Ríos, the daughter of general and military dictator Efraín Ríos Montt, as its presidential candidate. Together with vice-presidential candidate Juan Luis Mirón, she received 6% of the vote. In the congressional elections the party received 4% of the vote and won five seats. Retalhuleu Department
Retalhuleu () is a department located in the south-west of Guatemala, extending from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean coast. It has an area of 1856 km2. In 2018 the population of the Department of Retalhuleu was 326,828. Its capital, Retalhuleu City, mixes ancient and modern architecture, and it is also known for being a commercial city. The largest Native American group in the state is the K'iche' (Quiché) Maya people. The department contains a number of Pre-Columbian ruins, including Takalik Abaj, and it also contains numerous amusement parks, the most important and known are Xetulul and Xocomil. Alejandro Eduardo Giammattei Falla (; born 9 March 1956) is a Guatemalan politician who is serving as the president of Guatemala since 2020. He is a former director of the Guatemalan penitentiary system and participated in Guatemala's presidential elections in 2007, 2011, and 2015. He won in the 2019 election, and assumed office on 14 January 2020. Political career Giammattei was the general coordinator of the electoral processes in 1985, 1988, and 1990. 2019 Guatemalan General Election
General elections were held in Guatemala on 16 June 2019, to elect the President, Congress and local councils. A second round of the presidential elections was held on 11 August 2019, since no candidate won a majority in the first round. Alejandro Giammattei won the election in the second round of voting. Incumbent President Jimmy Morales was constitutionally barred from running for a second four-year term. Electoral system The President of Guatemala is elected using the two-round system.
