Lithuanian ( ) is an Eastern Baltic language belonging to the Baltic branch of the Indo-European language family. Virgilijus Alekna
Virgilijus Alekna (; 13 February 1972) is a Lithuanian former discus thrower and politician. He won medals at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics, including two golds. After retiring from athletics, Alekna was elected to the national parliament, the Seimas, in 2016. He has 3 children - Martynas Alekna, Mykolas Alekna and Gabrielė Aleknaite. Athletics career Alekna has won two gold medals in the Summer Olympics in the discus throw, the first was in 2000 and the second in 2004. He also won the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. In 2007, he was appointed as UNESCO Champion for Sport. His personal record as well as the Lithuanian record is 73.88 meters (242 ft 4½ in), surpassed only by the world record (74.08). Virgilijus Vladislovas Bulovas (born 6 November 1939 in Kaunas, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian engineer and political figure. Bulovas is a former member of the Seimas and twice served on the Government of Lithuania as the Minister of the Interior. Biography Bulovas was born to a family of a military officer in Kaunas, Lithuania, on 6 November 1939. In 1941, after Soviet occupation, his father was deported to Siberia, where he later died. Bulovas graduated from the Kaunas Polytechnics Institute in 1960, with a degree in electrical engineering, specializing in computers. He worked at the Institute until 1992, was awarded a doctorate degree in 1972 and became a docent in 1976. He co-wrote two computer science books and authored more than 50 scientific and educational papers. Bulovas had been a member of the Communist Party of Lithuania since 1963. Virgilijus Kęstutis Noreika (; 22 September 1935 – 3 March 2018) was a Lithuanian tenor. Early life and education Noreika was born in Šiauliai and graduated with honors from the Lithuanian State Conservatory in 1958. A year earlier, while still a student, he was engaged as a performer at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Career In 1959, Noreika sang the part of Alfredo Germont in Verdi's '' La traviata'', one of Noreika's favorite and most frequently performed roles. Later in 1965, he continued his career at the La Scala in Milan. There he mastered six new roles, and also sang the part of Pinkerton from Puccini's '' Madama Butterfly''.
