Virgil Villavicencio
Virgil Vargas Villavicencio is assistant manager of TNT Katropa in the Philippine Basketball Association and former assistant coach of Talk 'N Text's championship-winning team in the 2003 All-Filipino Cup. Villavicencio is also a former head coach of the La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP and led the team to consecutive runner-up finishes in 1994 and 1995. Basketball career Villavicencio played for the La Salle Green Archers in the collegiate ranks between 1972 and 1976, and was part of the 1974-75 NCAA championship-winning team, alongside former PBA legend Lim Eng Beng. Coaching career Villavicencio coached the Ateneo Blue Eaglets high school basketball team to five consecutive titles in the Metro Manila Basketball League (1989–1993) and four consecutive runner-up spots in the UAAP Juniors Division (1989–1992). UST Growling Tigers
The UST Growling Tigers are the college athletic teams representing the University of Santo Tomas in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. They hold the most UAAP Overall Championships with 44 Seniors' Overall Championships (out of 73 seasons) and 21 Juniors' Overall Championships (out of 26 seasons). UAAP Basketball Championship
The UAAP Basketball Championship holds its basketball tournaments from September to December. Basketball is a mandatory sport in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). All eight universities participate in the Men's, Women's, and Juniors (Boys') tournaments. The tournament is divided into two divisions, the Seniors' division, which is further subdivided into the Men's tournament, for male collegiate players, and the Women's tournament for female collegiate players. The other division is the Juniors' which is also subdivided into two tournaments for the male and female high school athletes. The Ateneo Blue Eagles are the collegiate varsity teams of the Ateneo de Manila University that play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere collegiate league in the Philippines. The collegiate women's varsity basketball team is called the ''Lady Eagles''. The Ateneo collegiate men's varsity basketball team was not always called the Blue Eagles. Lim Eng Beng
Lim Eng Beng (Chinese: 林嚶鳴; November 10, 1951 – December 21, 2015) was a Chinese Filipino basketball player who spent twelve seasons in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975-1986. Early life Lim was born and raised in Tondo, Manila from an impoverished family. When he was 5 or 6 years old, his family stayed in an informal settlement. It was around this time where the young Lim would use his passion in basketball as a means to climb out of hardship and support his family. Collegiate career Lim played for the De La Salle Green Archers of "Man In White" Coach Tito Eduque from 1971 to 1974. The De La Salle Green Archers (also known simply as the Green Archers) are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines.
