Violated (1996 Film)
''Violated'' is a 1996 Nigerian romantic drama film directed by Amaka Igwe and starring Richard Mofe Damijo and Ego Boyo. The film and its sequel, ''Violated 2'' (or part 2), were released in the home video format in June 1996.Ajasa, J. (24 June 1996). Movie maestro strikes again: Amaka igwe, celebrated movie maker, shakes the home video scene with violated and goes in search of greater challenges. Theweek Premise The film tells the story of a young man, Tega (Richard Mofe Damijo), from a wealthy background who falls in love and marries Peggy (Ego Boyo) who came from a different background. Amaka Igwe
Amaka Igwe (2 January 1963 – 28 April 2014) was a Nigerian filmmaker and broadcasting executive. Igwe was the owner oTop Radio90.9 Lagos and Amaka Igwe Studios. She was recognized as one of the second-generation filmmakers who helped begin the video film era of Nigerian cinema. She remained a prominent figure in the industry until her death in 2014 resulting from an asthma attack. On 2 January 2020, Igwe was honoured on her 57th posthumous birthday with a Google Doodle. Early life and education Uzoamaka Audrey "Amaka" Igwe was born to Isaac and Patience Ene on 2 January 1963 in Port-Harcourt. Igwe was the fifth of seven children, and the fourth of six sisters. Richard Eyimofe Evans Mofe-Damijo (born 6 July 1961), popularly known as RMD, is a Nigerian actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist. He was also a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State in 2009. In 2005, he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016. Early life Mofe-Damijo was born in Aladja community of Udu Kingdom, Delta State. Nwakaego (Ego) Boyo (born September 6, 1968) is a Nigerian actor, producer, executive producer and creative entrepreneur who is popular for her role as Anne Haatrope in the early 90s soap, '' Checkmate''. She is the founder and Managing Director of Temple Productions, Temple films and Temple Studio.
