Vinod Singh (Gonda Politician)
Vinod Kumar Singh alias Pandit Singh (7 January 1962 – 7 May 2021) was an Indian politician from the state of Uttar Pradesh. A three-time legislator and a senior member of the Samajwadi Party, Pandit Singh represented Gonda assembly constituency in the 13th, 14th and 16th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly which is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of Uttar Pradesh. He also served as a cabinet minister in the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh under the chief ministership of Akhilesh Yadav. He also contested the 2019 parliamentary elections from Gonda but lost to Kirti Vardhan Singh of BJP. He died on 7 May 2021 from COVID-19 related complications at the age of 59 years. Gonda District
Gonda district (Hindi: गोण्डा/गोंडा, Urdu: گونڈہ) is one of the districts of Uttar Pradesh, India. The city of Gonda is the district headquarters, and also the administrative centre for the Devipatan Division. The total area of Gonda district is . History Under the Nawabs of Awadh, Gonda was originally part of the Nizamat of Gorakhpur, but after Gorakhpur was ceded to the British in 1801, Gonda was united with Bahraich district. It was created as a separate district by the British when they annexed Awadh in 1856. In 1875, parts of Gonda district between Baghaura Tal and the Arrah river were ceded to Nepal by the British government. Kirti Vardhan Singh
Kirti Vardhan Singh (born 1 March 1966) is an Indian politician for the Gonda (Lok Sabha constituency) in Uttar Pradesh. He is locally known by the alias Raja Bhaiya, being connected with erstwhile Taluqdari of Mankapur. He was member of 12th and 14th Lok Sabha from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh as Samajwadi Party candidate. In March 2014 he resigned and joined BJP and contested the 2014 Lok Sabh seat from Gonda. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh (born 8 January 1957) is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party who is currently serving as the member of parliament from Kaiserganj. Political career In 1991 he was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha from Gonda constituency in Uttar Pradesh as Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. He was re-elected to the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 from the same constituency and in 2004, he was re-elected to 14th Lok Sabha from Balrampur constituency in Uttar Pradesh state on the BJP ticket. On 20 July 2008, he joined the Samajwadi Party. In 2009, he was re-elected to 15th Lok Sabha from Kaiserganj constituency in Uttar Pradesh state. Mulayam Singh Yadav (22 November 1939 – 10 October 2022) was an Indian politician, a socialist figure and the founder of the Samajwadi Party. In the course of his political career spanning more than six decades, he served for three terms as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and also as the Minister of Defence in the Government of India.
