Alexandre Vinet
Alexandre Rodolphe Vinet (17 June 17974 May 1847) was a Swiss literary critic and theology, theologian. Literary critic He was born near Lausanne, Switzerland. Educated for the Protestantism, Protestant ministry, he was ordained in 1819, when already teacher of the French language and literature in the gymnasium at Basel; and throughout his life he was as much a critic as a theologian. His literary criticism brought him into contact with Charles Augustin Sainte-Beuve, for whom he obtained an invitation to lecture at Lausanne, which led to his famous work on Port-Royal-des-Champs Abbey, Port-Royal. Élie Vinet
Élie Vinet (1509–1587) was a French Renaissance humanist, known as a classical scholar, translator and antiquary. Life Vinet was born at Vinets, in the commune of Saint Médard, near Barbezieux in what is now Charente. Brought up at Barbezieux, he studied at Angoulême, then at Poitiers, where he graduated M.A. At the court of Cognac he associated with Louise de Savoie, and also Marguerite d'Angoulême, princess of France and future Queen of Navarre. He then went to Paris to master Greek and mathematics. In 1539 André de Gouveia invited Vinet to become regent at the Collège de Guyenne, founded in 1533 in Bordeaux. Leaving aside some travels to Coimbra and Paris, he taught there until his death; during much of his time he was principal of the college. He formed its teaching and discipline. Joseph Juste Scaliger was one of his pupils, and he kept up a correspondence with numerous scholars which survives through letters exchanged with Pierre Daniel of Orléans. Works I ... Luc Vinet
Luc Vinet (born ) is a Canadian physicist and mathematician. He was former rector of the Université de Montréal between 2005 and 2010. He is the CEO oIVADO created in 2015 since August 2021. Biography Born in Montreal, Quebec, Vinet holds a doctorate (3rd cycle) from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and a PhD from the Université de Montréal, both in theoretical physics. After two years as Research Associate at MIT, he was appointed in the early 1980s as faculty member in the Physics Department at the Université de Montréal. He has held a number of visiting professorships at various universities. He is the author or co-author of ten books and more than three hundred scientific papers. His research areas include gauge field theories, supersymmetry, quantum algebra, integrable systems and combinatorics.
