Vineland High School
Vineland High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school located in Vineland, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Vineland Public Schools. The now reunified school operates from a south campus that had been Vineland Senior High School South (which opened in 1963) and a north campus that was formerly Vineland Senior High School North (opened in 1976). The original high school in Vineland dates back to 1870, and the 1927 Vineland High School structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 3, 1995, and is now known as Landis Intermediate School. Vineland Senior High School North is a public high school located in Vineland, in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States, as part of the Vineland Public Schools. The school opened in 1976. It holds classes for 9th and 10th grade students, as well a small number of students from other grades. It is considered to be a different school, but on the same campus of Vineland Senior High School South. Weymouth Township is a township in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States census, the township's population was 2,715, reflecting an increase of 458 (+20.3%) from the 2,257 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 300 (+15.3%) from the 1,957 counted in the 1990 Census. Named for Weymouth, Dorset, the township was created as a constablewick in 1694 and was known in its early days as "New Waymouth Township". Sending/receiving Relationship
A sending/receiving relationship is one in which a public school district sends some or all of its students to attend the schools of another district. This is often done to achieve costs savings in smaller districts or continues after districts have grown as part of a historical relationship. The term is used in primary and secondary education in the states of New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania in the United States, although the concept exists in other states. At times, the sending district may be granted representation on the receiving district's board of education. On the receiving district's board of education, the sending representative usually votes ''only'' on issues pertaining to the students received and district-wide issues. National School Lunch Act
The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a 1946 United States federal law that created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to provide low-cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools. The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school age children. It was named after Richard Russell, Jr., signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1946, and entered the federal government into schools' dietary programs on June 4, 1946.
