''Vinduet'' (Norwegian: ''The Window'') is an online literary magazine. It was a print publication between 1947 and 2021. Its first issue as purely an online publication was started in Autumn 2021. The magazine is based in Oslo, Norway. History and profile ''Vinduet'' was founded in 1947 by Harald Grieg and Nic. Stang. The owner is the publishing house Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Four paper editions were issued annually. In the 1960s ''Vinduet'' adopted the eclectic thinking in dealing with literary work. At the end of this period it was under the influence of younger leftist intellectuals. The magazine presents fictional texts, articles about various kinds of literature, and book reviews. Editors-in-chief Nikolaj Frobenius was the editor-in-chief of the magazine at the end of the 1990s. From 2008 to 2013 Audun Vinger served in the post, and Kaja Schjerven Mollerin took over after him. Kjell Heggelund
Kjell Heggelund (16 December 1932 – 8 February 2017) was a Norwegian literary researcher, lecturer, editor, manager, poet, translator and literary critic. Personal life Heggelund was born in Hamar. His parents were Kristian Heggelund and Katrine Vestby. He grew up in Tønsberg and later Bergen. He was married to Gerd Zelow Hofseth from 1956 to 1963, to Irene Olesen from 1965 to 1975, and then married the writer Liv Køltzow in 1985. He died in February 2017. Lyrics In the 1960s Heggelund issued three poetry collections, ''Reisekretser'' (1966), ''I min tid'' (1967) and ''Punkt 8'' (1969). His lyrics are regarded as an important contribution to the renewal of Norwegian poetry that took place in the late 1960s. In 1971 he issued a book with translations of poems by Mao Zedong into Norwegian language, in cooperation with Tor Obrestad (''Mao Tsetungs dikt''). Johan Borgen
Johan Collett Müller Borgen (28 April 1902 – 16 October 1979) was a Norwegian writer, journalist and critic. His best-known work is the novel ''Lillelord'' for which he was awarded the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature in 1955. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1966. Biography He was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Poul Holst Borgen (1867–1941) and Andrea Elfrida Bommen (1868–1958). He was raised in the borough of Frogner as the youngest of four sons in the family of a successful attorney. He attended private schools; first at Frøenene Platous Forskole, then at Frogner Skole. Mentz Schulerud
Mentz Schulerud (19 October 1915 – 18 May 2003) was a Norwegian author, radio personality and theatre director. He was known for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the city of Oslo. Schulerud was born in Kristiania, but grew up in Rena, Lillehammer and Ringsaker as the older brother of the famous children's book author Anne-Cath. Vestly. Knut Faldbakken (born 31 August 1941, in Hamar) is a Norwegian novelist. He studied psychology at Oslo University, and then worked as a journalist. Faldbakken visited a number of countries, working variously as a bookkeeper, sailor, and factory worker, and began writing books in 1967 while living in Paris. He was editor of the literary magazine ''Vinduet'' (''The Window'') between 1975 and 1979. Gyldendal Norsk Forlag AS, commonly referred to as Gyldendal N.F. and in Norway often only as Gyldendal, is one of the largest Norwegian publishing houses. It was founded in 1925 after buying rights to publications from the Danish publishing house Gyldendal, which the company also takes it name from. Nikolaj Frobenius
Nikolaj Frobenius (born 29 September 1965) is a Norwegian novelist and screen writer. Frobenius was born in Oslo, but grew up at Rykkinn. He studied film writing and research at LCP, London. He has written several books and screenplays, including the screenplay for the classic Nordic film thriller ''Insomnia'', which was adapted into a major Hollywood production in 2002. His international breakthrough as a novelist came with the novel "Latours katalog" (1996). Brikt Jensen (15 September 1928 – 14 November 2011) was a Norwegian publisher, writer, journal editor, professor who also hosted a popular TV program about literature. Jensen was born in Bergen, and was made a PhD in 1964 with a thesis on François Mauriac's ''Ormebolet''. He was editor for the literary magazine ''Vinduet'' from 1964 to 1969. ''Klassekampen'' ( en, The Class Struggle) is a Norwegian daily newspaper. It describes itself as "the newspaper of the Left." The paper's net circulation is 34,000 (2021), and it has around 111,000 daily readers on paper (160,000 on Saturdays). This makes it the third largest Norwegian print newspaper, based on readership. Chief editor from 2018 is Mari Skurdal. The paper was initially a part of the young marxist-leninist (maoist) movement in Norway. It started out in early 1969 as a monthly periodical published by "a group of marxist-leninists" with Anders M. Andersen as the first editor.
