Vincenzo Alfano ( Naples, 1850) was an Italian sculptor. Biography He is said to have studied both painting and sculpture at the Neapolitan Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, Italy, under Morelli and Palizzi Palizzi () is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region Calabria, located about southwest of Catanzaro and about southeast of Reggio Calabria. The southernmost point in mainland Italy lies in Palizzi. .... He emigrated to America in 1898, and in 1902 he was commissioned to sculpt the monumental sculptural groups for the entryways inside the main vestibule of the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg. Domenico Morelli
Domenico Morelli (4 August 182313 August 1901) was an Italian painter, who mainly produced historical and religious works. Morelli was immensely influential in the arts of the second half of the 19th century, both as director of the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples, but also because of his rebelliousness against institutions: traits that flourished into the passionate, often patriotic, Romantic and later Symbolist subjects of his canvases. Montevarchi is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, Italy. History The town of Montevarchi sprang up around 1100, near to a fortified Benedictine monastery, founded by bishop Elempert (986–1010) of Arezzo. At first the castle belonged to the Marquis Bourbon del Monte di Santa Maria, then to the Count Guidi family. In 1273 ownership passed to the Signoria of Florence. One of the town's first ''podestà'' (mayor) was Brunetto Latini. Vincenzo Gemito (July 16, 1852 – March 1, 1929) was an Italian sculptor and artist.
