Vincent J. Polistina
Vincent Joseph Polistina (born June 10, 1971) is an American Republican politician who has served in the New Jersey Senate since 2021. He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he represented the 2nd Legislative District from 2008 to 2012. Early life and education A lifelong resident of Atlantic County, Polistina grew up in Galloway Township and graduated from Absegami High School in 1989. Polistina received a B.A. from Rutgers University with a major in Bioenvironmental Engineering. He is owner of the engineering firm of Polistina and Associates, L.L.C. He lives in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, with his wife Carolyn and their three children. New Jersey's 2nd Legislative District
New Jersey's 2nd legislative district is one of 40 in the state, covering the Atlantic County municipalities of Absecon City, Atlantic City, Brigantine City, Buena Borough, Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom Borough, Hamilton Township, Linwood City, Longport Borough, Margate City, Mullica Township, Northfield City, Pleasantville City, Somers Point City and Ventnor City as of the 2011 apportionment. Except for an eight-year period from 1974 until 1982, the 2nd District has been exclusively made up of municipalities from Atlantic County since 1967. Claire Swift (born June 9, 1974) is an American Republican Party politician who has represented 2nd Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since taking office on January 11, 2022. Donald A. Guardian (born June 12, 1953) is an American Republican Party politician who has represented 2nd Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly since taking office on January 11, 2022, when he became the first openly gay Republican legislator in state history. He served as the Mayor of Atlantic City, New Jersey from 2014 to 2017. The 221st New Jersey Legislature began on January 9, 2024, following the 2023 elections for Assembly and Senate. It will end January 13, 2026. This will be the first session of the state legislature where legislators will represent districts in the new legislative map that will be used until the 2031 election cycle. The members of the Assembly will serve two-year terms through the end of the legislative session in January 2026 while members of the Senate elected in 2023 will serve four-year terms that will expire in January 2028 at the conclusion of the 222nd legislative session. ''The Press of Atlantic City'' is the fourth-largest daily newspaper in New Jersey. Originally based in Pleasantville, it is the primary newspaper for southeastern New Jersey and the Jersey Shore. The newspaper designated market runs from Waretown in southern Ocean County (exit 69 on the Garden State Parkway) down to Cape May (exit 0). It also reaches west to Cumberland County.
