Vincent-Guillaume Otis (born April 13, 1978) is a Canadian actor from Quebec. He is most noted for his roles in the television series ''District 31'', for which he won the Prix Gémeaux for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2018, and the film '' Norbourg'', for which he won the Prix Iris for Best Actor at the 24th Quebec Cinema Awards in 2022. Francis Leclerc
Francis Leclerc (born 1971 in Quebec City) is a Canadian film and television director, screenwriter and film editor. He is the son of Félix Leclerc. Since 1995 he has worked in the Quebec film industry, directing music videos for many well-known Quebec artists. He has directed more than 20 short and medium-length films, including a television adaptation of Robert Lepage’s '' Les Sept branches de la rivière Ota''. ''René Lévesque'' was a Canadian television miniseries that aired on CBC Television in 2006. It stars Emmanuel Bilodeau as former-Quebec premier René Lévesque. Plot and production The series dramatized Lévesque as a journalist who eventually becomes the leader of the Parti Québécois. A journalist, Bilodeau, plays Lévesque, and it has been noted that Bilodeau had met the real Lévesque before the former-premier's death. The series was viewed as "part of CBC's high-impact programming strategy." Reception One newspaper said Bilodeau had a "remarkable" similarity to Lévesque in appearance; however, another critic complained of "meandering looks at dubious 'icons' like separatist René Lévesque." Paul Rose (political Figure)
Paul Rose (October 16, 1943 – March 14, 2013) was a Québécois nationalist, a lecturer at Université du Québec à Montréal, convicted murderer and terrorist known for his role in the October Crisis. He was convicted of the kidnapping and murder by strangulation of Quebec Deputy Premier Pierre Laporte in 1970. A Quebec government commission later determined in 1980 that Rose was not present when Laporte was killed, despite a recorded confession. He was the leader of the Chenier cell of the '' Front de libération du Québec'' (FLQ), an armed group which was fighting what they considered the oppression of French Quebecers. On October 10, 1970, the cell kidnapped Quebec Deputy Premier Pierre Laporte. Laporte's strangled body was found in the trunk of a car on October 17. ''Le déserteur'' is a 2008 Quebec feature film directed by Simon Lavoie. The film stars Émile Proulx-Cloutier, Raymond Cloutier, Danielle Proulx, Viviane Audet, Benoît Gouin and Gilles Renaud. It tells the story of Georges Guénette, a deserter from the Canadian Army during World War II, who was shot and killed by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. ''The Necessities of Life'' (french: Ce qu'il faut pour vivre) is a 2008 Canadian drama film directed by Benoît Pilon and starring Natar Ungalaaq, Éveline Gélinas and Paul-André Brasseur.
