Vinberg () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and a parish situated in Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 592 inhabitants in 2010. The parish is home to three villages: Vinberg, Vinbergs kyrkby and Tröingeberg, the latter being a suburb of Falkenberg. Geography The parish covers an area of 35.5 km², of which 34.94 is land. Almost all of the land is cultivated, forests cover only 5 percent of the land (as of 1971). The river Ätran (river), Ätran delimits the parish in the south west. Vinberg Nature Reserve is located just south of the locality. History Vinberg was first mentioned in writing in 1330–1334. The name is expected to come from ''vind'' (wind) and ''berg'' (mountain). It is, compared to surround areas, rich on archeological findings. Some of which have been destroyed due to modern cultivation. Vinbergs IF
Vinbergs IF is a Sweden, Swedish association Football, football club located in Vinberg in Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County. Background Vinbergs Idrottsförening is a sports club that was founded in 1932 and has specialised in football and gymnastics. The club's most famous player is Magnus Svensson (footballer), Magnus "Turbo" Svensson who played for the Swedish national team. Bandy player Magnus Svensson (floorball), Magnus Svensson (who currently plays for Warberg IC) also played football for Vinbergs IF. Former volleyball player Niklas Carlsson, who played for Falkenbergs Volleybollklubb (Fvbk) and the Swedish national team, was a very talented goalkeeper with the football club. Ljungby, Falkenberg Municipality
Ljungby is a former parish in Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden. The name is most likely derived from the conjunction of ''ljung'' ( Calluna) and ''by'' (village). It is confirmed in written sources from at least 1267. Two conurbations exist within the parish borders; ''Ljungby/Lilla Ljungby'' and ''Bergagård''. A minor part of Ätrafors is also within the parish boundary. Geography, geology and nature The parish has an area of 54.37 km², of which 53.47 km² are land. It is mainly situated on the Hallandian plain. Arable land covered, as of 1971, about 62 percent of the parish, while 26 percent was wooded. Falkenberg
Falkenberg is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 27,813 inhabitants in 2019 (out of a municipal total of about 45,000). It is located at the mouth of river Ätran (river), Ätran. The name consists of the Swedish words for falcon (''falk'') and mountain (''berg''). Falkenberg is a popular tourist destination in the summers, and the main beach of the town is Skrea strand. Olof Von Dahlin
Olof von Dalin (29 August 1708 – 12 August 1763) was a Swedish nobleman, poet, historian and courtier. He was an influential literary figure of the Swedish Enlightenment. Background Olof Dalin was born in the parish of Vinberg in Halland. His father was the parish minister. His birth name prior to knighthood was Dahlin. Olof Dalin's father had taken his name from his hometown, Dalstorp in the County of Älvsborg. He was closely related to Andreas Rydelius (1671–1738), Bishop of Lund, and he was sent at a very early age to be instructed by him. Carl Linnaeus was one of his fellow-pupils. Career In 1723, while studying at Lund University, he first accompanying his stepfather, Severin Böckman, to Stockholm and in 1726 he entered into public office there. Falkenberg Municipality (''Falkenbergs kommun'') is a municipality in Halland County on the Swedish west coast. The town Falkenberg is the municipal seat. The municipality was created in 1971 when the ''City of Falkenberg'' was amalgamated with six rural municipalities (themselves formed by the 1952 local government reform) and part of a seventh. There are 24 original entities within the area. Today, Falkenberg holds a strong position in the food and beverage industry with companies such as Arla Foods, Carlsberg and SIA Glass having plants in the city.
