Vimanika Comics is an Indian Comics Company which creates Comics & Graphic novel based on Indian mythology. The company also has its presence in United Kingdom as Vimanika Comics UK. The comics are available at all leading book stores in India. History Vimanika Comics was the first of its kind Indian company to launch a graphic novel in India and United States. Vimanika comic books and graphic novels are based on Indian mythology. Vimanika Comics is a part of Vimanika Edutainment Pvt Ltd, which aims to create stories based on Indian, Asian, and Celtic mythology. Graphic Novel
A graphic novel is a long-form, fictional work of sequential art. The term ''graphic novel'' is often applied broadly, including fiction, non-fiction, and anthologized work, though this practice is highly contested by comic scholars and industry professionals. Comic Con India
Comic Con India (CCI) is a series of annual comic-based conventions held in India. The first edition was held in New Delhi in 2011 and over the years has expanded to other major cities in India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmadabad. There are annual comic cons now in all these cities. Cumulatively these five cities attract over 200,000 visitors with over 1200 exhibitors. Jatin Varma, the founder & managing director of Comic Con India, launched the first comic con in India in Delhi in 2011. Chitrakatha (Hindi: चित्रकथा, Telugu: చిత్రకథ) are comics or graphic novels originating from India published in a number of Indian languages. India has a long tradition of comic readership and themes associated with extensive mythologies and folk-tales have appeared as children's comic books for decades. Indian comics often have large publication. The comic industry was at its peak in the late 1980s and early 1990s and during this period popular comics were easily sold more than 500,000 copies over the course of its shelf life of several weeks.
