Villa Il Palagio
Villa Il Palagio is a villa and farm estate in Figline Valdarno, in the province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany. The estate has belonged to the musician Sting and his wife Trudie Styler since the late 1990s. History Il Palagio was built in the 17th century. In the late 18th century it was bought by the wealthy Martelli family. They sold it in 1819 to Countess Carlotta Barbolani of Montauto, the widow of the Duke of San Clemente and it remained in this family's hands for some 150 years. In the early 20th century, Duke Simone Vincenzo Velluti Zati di San Clemente was responsible for building an oil mill and grain store and beginning to produce wine in its vineyards. A chapel was added in 1958. The estate was purchased by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler in 1999. When the couple bought the villa it was in a state of disrepair and they hired architect Arabella Lennox-Boyd to carry out a full restoration of the estate, which took seven years. Figline Valdarno () is a ''frazione'' in the ''comune'' of Figline e Incisa Valdarno in the Metropolitan City of Florence in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about southeast of Florence. It is the birthplace of Marsilio Ficino. It was a separate commune until January 1, 2014. ''...All This Time'' is a live album and concert film by Sting, recorded and filmed on 11 September 2001. It was recorded at Sting's Villa Il Palagio in Italy in front of a select audience drawn from his fan club and features live versions of Sting's songs from his Police and solo song catalogue. The album and video get their name from the song of the same name from his album ''The Soul Cages''. Background Sting wanted to put together a concert in his home at Villa Il Palagio in Tuscany, Italy, so he enlisted a group of musicians to practice and perform with him. The events leading up to the night of the performance were filmed, and during these events on the day of the performance, the September 11 attacks perpetrated against the United States occurred, and the assembled group of musicians was made aware of this. "Fragile" is a song written and performed by English musician Sting from his second studio album '' ...Nothing Like the Sun''. Released as a single the following year, it placed to number 70 on the UK Singles Chart. Arabella Lennox-Boyd, Lady Lennox-Boyd (née Parisi) is an Italian-born English garden designer.
