Vilhelm Theodor Walther
Vilhelm Theodor Walther (13 November 1819 – 28 August 1892) was a Danish architect and Royal Building Inspector for Jutland. He was born in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark and died in Aarhus. He was twice awarded the Academy's Neuhausen Prize (''Neuhausenske Præmie'') for excellence in architecture and in 1885, he received the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Dannebrog. Gravsted.dk. The Virginia Tech Hokies are the athletic teams representing the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in intercollegiate athletics. The Hokies participate in the NCAA's Division I Atlantic Coast Conference in 22 varsity sports. Virginia Tech's men's sports are football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling. Virginia Tech's women's sports are basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, golf, and volleyball. Virginia Tech teams have never won an NCAA championship, but individual athletes from the program have won 18 individual national titles in various track and field events and in wrestling. Aaby, Aarhus
Aaby, or Åby, is a suburban area of Aarhus in Denmark. Located 4 km from the city centre of Aarhus, Åby was originally an old village, but is now an integrated a part of Åbyhøj, that sprawled around it. To distinguish Åby from Åbyhøj, the village area is often referred to as ''Gammel Åby'' (lit.:Old Åby). Åby is situated at a bend of the Aarhus River and there is access to the river and the pathway of Brabrandstien from here. Etymology The name Åby translates literally as ''river-town'' in modern Danish and it also derives from the Old Norse for "village on a river" (Old Norse ''á'', river, and ''býr'', village). Marienborg Manor
Marienborg Manor is an Estate (land), estate on the Denmark, Danish island of Møn. The estate has a large park with public access. The main building was demolished in 1984. The estate, covering , contains the thatched tenant farm of Egeløkke. Manorial records exist from 1769, though earlier records may exist in the Møn Cavalry District records. History In 1668, Frederik III of Denmark, Frederik III gave Captain Jacob Nielsen several estates on Møn, including the Nygård farm, as a reward for his having captured a Swedish ship and brought it back to Copenhagen with its cargo and Danish prisoners of war. Nielsen apparently only kept it for a short period. Later, a manor was built there as the residence of Samuel Christoph von Plessen, who in 1685 was appointed governor of Møn. Plessen used bricks from Stege, Denmark, Stege's town wall for the building. When he was relieved of his position of governor in 1697, the house was totally or partially demolished. Brønderslev is a city in Denmark with a population of 12,549 (1 January 2022). The city is the largest urban area in Brønderslev Municipality and is the municipal seat. It is the fourth largest city of Vendsyssel within the North Jutland Region. History The name of the town is derived from a local Norsemen chief, Brunder. Brønderslev was formerly known as ''Vester Brønderslev'', in contrast to the neighboring ''Øster Brønderslev''. As of 2020, Øster Brønderslev has a population of just 943. Vester Brønderslev was once a small farming village. In 1682, it consisted of just 27 farms and 47 houses. The town was not initially located on any major thoroughfares and saw very little traffic. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control Skeletal muscle, voluntary muscles. ALS is the most common type of motor neuron diseases. Early symptoms of ALS include spasticity, stiff muscles, fasciculation, muscle twitches, and gradual increasing weakness and muscle atrophy, muscle wasting. ''Limb-onset ALS'' begins with weakness in the arms or legs, while ''bulbar-onset ALS'' begins with difficulty dysarthria, speaking or dysphagia, swallowing. Half of the people with ALS develop at least mild difficulties with cognitive disorder, thinking and behavior, and about 15% develop frontotemporal dementia. Most people experience pain.
