Vilhelm Theodor Walther
Vilhelm Theodor Walther (13 November 1819 – 28 August 1892) was a Danish architect and Royal Building Inspector for Jutland. He was born in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark and died in Aarhus. He was twice awarded the Academy's Neuhausen Prize (''Neuhausenske Præmie'') for excellence in architecture and in 1885, he received the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Dannebrog. Gravsted.dk. Aaby, or Åby, is a suburban area of Aarhus in Denmark. Located 4 km from the city centre of Aarhus, Åby was originally an old village, but is now an integrated a part of Åbyhøj, that sprawled around it. To distinguish Åby from Åbyhøj, the village area is often referred to as ''Gammel Åby'' (lit.:Old Åby). Åby is situated at a bend of the Aarhus River and there is access to the river and the pathway of Brabrandstien from here. Marienborg Manor
Marienborg Manor is an estate on the Danish island of Møn. The estate has a large park with public access. The main building was demolished in 1984. The estate, covering , contains the thatched tenant farm of Egeløkke. Manorial records exist from 1769, though earlier records may exist in the Møn Cavalry District records. History In 1668, Frederik III gave Captain Jacob Nielsen several estates on Møn, including the Nygård farm, as a reward for his having captured a Swedish ship and brought it back to Copenhagen with its cargo and Danish prisoners of war. Nielsen apparently only kept it for a short period. Later, a manor was built there as the residence of Samuel Christoph von Plessen, who in 1685 was appointed governor of Møn. Plessen used bricks from Stege's town wall for the building. When he was relieved of his position of governor in 1697, the house was totally or partially demolished. Brønderslev is a city in Denmark with a population of 12,549 (1 January 2022). The city is the largest urban area in Brønderslev Municipality and is the municipal seat. It is the fourth largest city of Vendsyssel within the North Jutland Region. History The name of the town is derived from a local Norsemen chief, Brunder. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a neurodegenerative disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles. ALS is the most common type of motor neuron diseases. Early symptoms of ALS include stiff muscles, muscle twitches, and gradual increasing weakness and muscle wasting. Thorsager Church (Danish: ''Thorsager Kirke'') is a lutheran church in Thorsager, Denmark within the Diocese of Aarhus in the Church of Denmark. The church is the only round church in Jutland. It was originally built during the 13th century in the Romanesque style, and has gone through several additions, renovations, and restorations since. History The town of Thorsager, which the church is named after, is a reference to the norse god Thor. Because of its name, the town was likely of religious significance within the Old Norse religion before christianity was introduced to the area. St Martin's Church, Randers
St Martin's Church ( da, Sankt Mortens Kirke) is a red brick church in Randers in the north of Jutland, Denmark. It was built from 1494 to 1520 on the site of an earlier church which was first mentioned in 1346. History and architecture The red-brick building stands on a Romanesque ashlar foundation which served a former church mentioned in sources from 1346. Dedicated to St Martin of Tours, it is the only remaining church of the five built in Randers during the Middle Ages. A Latin inscription above the altar states it was built by Prior J (i.e. Jens Mathiesen) in 1494. It originally formed part of the Monastery of the Holy Spirit (Helligåndskloster) but became a parish church in 1534, shortly before the Reformation. The church now consists of a central nave flanked by aisles on either side. It leads to a polygonal chancel at the east end which is rather lower than the nave itself.
