Viladrau
Viladrau is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Osona in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the south-east of the ''comarca'', beneath the massifs of the Guilleries and the Montseny, and is served by the GE-520 road, which links the municipality with the ''comarca'' of the Selva and with the N-152 road at Tona. Osona (comarca)
Osona () is a comarques of Catalonia, comarca situated in Catalonia, Spain, Northeast Spain. Its capital is Vic. Its population in 2001 was 129,543. Osona covers roughly the same area as the historic Catalan county of Osona. The name Osona comes from ''Ausetans'', a group of Iberian people who had their capital in ''Ausa'' (today Vic); the Roman Empire, Romans called the area ''Ausone'' or ''Ausona''. While most of the ''comarca'' is within the Provinces of Spain, province Barcelona (province), of Barcelona, the municipalities of Espinelves, Vidrà and Viladrau form part of the Girona (province), province of Girona. The most important town of Osona is Vic, its capital and an important and ancient urban center in this natural region that lies in the midst of the Plain of Vic. Arbúcies
Arbúcies is a village in the province of Girona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of with a population of 6481 in 2014. History Arbúcies was populated by the Iberians and later by the Romans. In the Middle Ages, when feudalism was established, Montsoriu Castle and viscounts of Cabrera were very important. The Battle of Arbúcies took place on 14 January 1714 during the War of the Spanish Succession between the militia of the surrounding area, supporters of Archduke Charles of Austria, and the Walloon forces of the Duke of Anjou. The clash took place near the Arbúcies stream, against a 15th-century mill. Bourbon troops, en route from Hostalric to Vic, were totally defeated and lost six flags. Guilleries
The Guilleries Massif (Catalan ''Les Guilleries'') is a mountain system located at the apex of the Catalan Transversal Range and the Pre-Coastal Range. The highest point of the range is Sant Miquel de Solterra or Sant Miquel de les Formigues (1.204 m), other main peaks are Turó del Faig Verd (1,187 m), Rocallarga (1,187 m), Sant Benet (1,149 m), El Far (1,111 m), Sant Gregori (1 ,094 m), Montdois (930 m), L'Agullola (921 m) and Turó del Castell (851 m) The Guilleries is one of the few places in the Catalan Mediterranean System where amphibolite facies conditions are found. The Pantà de Susqueda and Pantà de Sau reservoirs, of great importance for Barcelona metropolitan water supply, are located in the Guilleries area. These mountains were notorious in former times for being a haunt of bandits and highwaymen.
