Viktor Nemeš ( sr-Cyrl, Виктор Немеш; hu, Nemes Viktor, born 21 July 1993) is a Serbian Greco-Roman wrestler. His twin brother Mate Nemeš is also a wrestler. Biography Nemeš represented Serbia at the first ever European Games and was the first competitor for Serbia to win a medal at the 2015 European Games when he won his silver medal, losing to the Azerbaijani Elvin Mursaliyev. Nemeš won a silver medal at the 2016 Riga European Wrestling Championships, European Championships in March. Senta
Senta ( sr-cyrl, Сента, ; Hungarian: ''Zenta'', ; Romanian: ''Zenta'') is a town and municipality located in the North Banat District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. It is situated on the bank of the Tisa river in the geographical region of Bačka. The town has a population of 18,704, whilst the Senta municipality has 23,316 inhabitants (2011 census). History Archaeological finds indicate that the area around the modern settlement was populated from the prehistoric times. Neolithic and eneolithic societies settled in the vicinity of modern Senta thousands of years ago leaving credible traces of their presence. A Neolithic Tiszapolgár–Bodrogkeresztúr culture necropolis was found in Senta. The first historic population that might have lived in the area were most likely the Agathyrsi (6th century BC). Mate Nemeš
Mate Nemeš ( sr-cyr, Мате Немеш; hu, Nemes Máté; born 21 July 1993) is a Serbian Greco-Roman wrestler. He is a gold medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and the European Wrestling Championships. Career Nemeš won one of the bronze medals in the 67kg event at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. In the same year, he also represented Serbia at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus and he won one of the bronze medals in the 67kg event. At the 2019 Military World Games held in Wuhan, China, Nemeš also won one of the bronze medals in the 67kg event. Nemeš competed in the 67kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. 2020 Individual Wrestling World Cup
The inaugural 2020 Individual World Wrestling Cup was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 12–18 December 2020. It was a replacement event for the 2020 World Championships, which should have taken place in the same location, but since some criteria were not fulfilled, such as not less than 8 top nations from the previous championships to participate, the event is not counted as world championships. The Cup took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused this and other problems. The United States for instance chose not to participate. The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. The first Mediterranean Games were held in 1951 in Alexandria, Egypt, while the most recent games were held in 2022 in Oran, Algeria.
