Vijaykumar Gavit is a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Nandurbar. Vijaykumar Gavit was welcomed to the party fold by Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Eknath Khadse on 6 September 2014. Political career Vijaykumar Gavit took oath in the new government which has 18 ministers from the Congress and 20 from NCP, including Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on 7 November 2009. Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 30 June 2022, on resignation of his predecessor Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde leads a government consisting of his Shiv Sena party and Bharatiya Janata Party. Formation After the 2019 Maharashtra elections, Shiv Sena broke its pre-poll alliance with BJP. Instead, it formed a government with NCP and Congress. Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister, and Shinde was the public works and urban development minister. In June 2022, alongside several Shiv Sena legislators, Shinde withdrew from the Thackeray government. Amidst a political crisis, Thackeray resigned. Ashok Chavan
Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan (born 28 October 1958) is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He is one of the most influential leaders of Indian National Congress in Maharashtra. He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra state from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010. Also, he has served as Minister for Cultural Affairs, Industries, Mines and Protocol in the Vilasrao Deshmukh government and he is also the former PWD Minister of Maharashtra. On 9 November 2010, the Congress Party asked him to resign from office over corruption allegations relating to Adarsh Housing Society scam. Maharashtra Legislative Assembly
The Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha or the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the legislature of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated in the Nariman Point area of South Mumbai in the capital Mumbai. Presently, 288 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from the single-seat constituencies. The members of the upper house, the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad (the legislative council) are indirectly elected through an electoral college. Sessions The budget session and the monsoon session are convened in Mumbai whereas the winter session is convened in the auxiliary capital Nagpur. Manohar Joshi
Manohar Gaju Joshi (born 2 December 1937) is a prominent politician from the state of Maharashtra. He was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999 and Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2002 to 2004. He is one of the prominent leaders of the Shiv Sena. Narayan Tatu Rane (born 10 April 1952) is an Indian politician and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He currently serves as Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Second Modi ministry.
